My son attended Oasis Academy from Reception through to Year 2. If it wasn’t for the family relocation to Scotland we would have been happy to have seen him grow through the school.

The teachers have always been welcoming and helpful since day 1, in addition the parents have received good advice on how to support our children from workshops and teacher feedback.

The friendships that have evolved for my son have been amazing thanks to the teaching staff, the breakfast club, and the after school clubs. Parents at drop off and pick up times have also been very friendly, we count a few parents as good friends through the friendships that our kids have evolved.

The school supported us create a nice year book for our son on his last day. Good memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Oasis Putney Academy, we felt like we were “part of one big family”.

So, I’m not sure how many people read or write google reviews . But having just seen the previous 2 reviews I wanted to react because I wanted to bring some balance to the last two comments .
I have 2 children at Oasis in year 1 and year 3 who are happy, academically supported and who are taught by excellent classroom teachers. Particularly my son in year 3 has a teacher who has given him a love of reading that I would have never dreamed could be a possibility.

This school is not perfect. But what school is?

Could SOME of the teachers communicate more effectively with parents? Yes.

But , whenever I’ve gone in to school to volunteer for anything , I see active, engaged , effective teaching and teachers who really care about their students. And in the end that’s what matters 🥰

A couple more add ons whilst I’m at it and in case it’s helpful for anyone
-There are great specialists who come in for PE, music, outdoor learning and drama.
-The premises is lovely , and well organised which was important for my eldest when he joined ( he had sensory issues when he was 5 that thankfully he has now grown out of)
- I love the community feel that comes from hanging out on Putney common after school when the weather allows it!

My two children are extremely happy here, and they have been there since 2017. We have been offered places at other schools but turned them down because we never had a reason to leave.

They love going in, they love the learning, and they love their friends. They learn so much - we were blown away with how quickly they learned to read - and they're always encouraged to challenge themselves. I saw this lots during covid when I sat in on the reception lessons, and I witnessed how the teachers tailor the lessons to the right level for each child. I was in awe really how they could achieve this even through zoom and felt so lucky that my child was being introduced to learning by such inspiring people.

In fact it is full of excellent supportive teachers. There is a big emphasis on wellbeing and we have found from a number of different teachers that they are very in-tune with how each child is feeling. Teachers have personally contacted us when they have noticed that our children are not quite themselves, and have been extremely proactive about finding solutions and helping our children through whatever their challenge is, no matter how small.

There is some truth from the other reviews - there have been changes to management but each time this has been a very valid reason. Mr Lillo who is the principal now is fantastic and has been an extremely positive leader.

The afterschool club could be improved , just note that this is run by a company separate from oasis.

To end on a positive, as the school has grown I have been impressed with the school remembering to develop the school at all levels - the variety available to the ks2 children has grown year on year , e.g. specialist drama, music and now chess teachers who teach all the classes. I think it is a reflection of what oasis and their management see as important - building well-rounded children. We are very happy with our children here.

We are very happy indeed with Oasis Putney. Our son is always enthusiastic to go in every morning, and moreover, comes bouncing out every day full of stories about what he has learnt that day and who he has played with.

It is abundantly clear how much the teachers, senior leadership and supporting teams at this school care about the students. The teachers got to know our son very quickly, extending his learning in areas he finds easy and helping him to succeed in other areas that needed more practice. There is a focus on being well-rounded, kind members of the community alongside academic studies, which we adore. Attention to detail and care is consistent throughout the school - the kitchen team know the children's names, what they like to eat, and encourage them to try new meals. Remembering the preferences and particularities of 300+ children is pretty impressive!

We live very close to the school, and often see the teachers and Deputy Head, Miss Hughes, leaving in the evening and have seen the Head, Mr Lillo, coming in on the weekend - the dedication is unquestionable. They are always full of smiles and enthusiasm for the children each morning and definitely foster a love of learning. When I walk past during the school day the children are always playing nicely and laughing in the playground. Our son has made friends in other school years, not just his own.

Mrs Craythorne (our son's Reception teacher) and her teaching team instil in the children a sense of pride in their work and their school from the off. Our son is thriving and we can not praise the teaching enough. Every so often we do some 'Bond papers' at home to keep the pace aligned for entrance exams he'll need to take when he applies to secondary schools and he does well on these, thanks to Oasis' teaching. (Started early so that prep can be done casually along the way)

There is a wide variety of after school clubs, and outdoor learning during the school day, which our son particularly enjoys. It is an excellent bonus to have outdoor learning and access to the common. He also loves his French club (taught by one of the Oasis teaching staff, Mrs Triviaux), that teaches at an impressive level and pace. He is 5, and happily speaks in French to other adults on our trips to France.

Our daughter (2) is already excited about joining the school (she needs to be enticed away each morning!) and we are very excited about the nursery opening here. We know that she will have a marvellous introduction to school life.

We feel lucky to have found a school that we have every confidence in and that our son is thriving at.

My two boys (5 and 7) attend the school. They are happy and go into school with no fuss whatsoever. Oasis has a strong focus on emotional wellbeing. They try to ensure the children are aware of their emotions (so important at the moment) and have excellent SEN provision with a special classroom dedicated to this. The school is relatively new, but the staff work so incredibly hard and are so invested in the children. We love it and our boys are very happy.

My grandson attends this school. I have collected him from after-school club which I find extremely unsafe. The gate is left open and children are left playing unattended. It is so easy for anybody to grab a child from the premises. It is also extremely dangerous for children as they can easily leave the premises and go outside of the gate where they can be taken by strangers or hurt by traffic. After I entered the building, I spoke to the after-school carer who assured me that they will keep the gates locked. However, once I collected my grandson and ready to leave the premises, to my horror, the gate was still open. This needs serious and immediate attention as these children's well-being and safety are at grave risk.

This is a great school. Very academically driven whilst balanced with PSHE education. Caring staff and a good school community. On-site wraparound care, plus a wide range of extra-curriculum activities are a real bonus.
Really happy with the online learning provision during the most recent lockdown.
