My son is in in year 3 and only positive experience want to share. School security is well established, learning activities is well scheduled and the bullying issues is strongly unaccepted and dealt straight away if any. Teachers, most important, with a great "common sense".

The school is an amazing place to be at and after a few year it feels like a home but there could be some improvements for example there are certain dilemmas that aren't dealt the way they should or sometimes children will get away with things depending on the teacher ( but 60% of the time it is dealt properly ) . The hygene could be better especially for children in upper ks2 as they aren't things in the toilets that could help them stay hygienic and there . But APS have some great role models that the pupils can look up to , the school also take part in a lot of completion which helps the students stay fit and healthy . The school also take part in days that have meanings like , Children In Need , Red Nose Day ect . It will be very hard for me to leave a school that has become my home ( well my second home ) and every child that enters the welcoming gates of APS will realise there is no better place than this. it will be an amazing time in the years of your life here and they welcome anyone and everyone .

I don’t know where to start! ...My son goes to this school (Y2), and I’ve also carried out a classroom observation (as part of my university research project into teaching).

Teachers are collaborative, coherent and attentive. The headteacher, and his strong leadership team are absolutely amazing! They go out their ways to welcome visitors, parents and support their students to achieve and reach their full potential - with no limit set.
Everything is well organised - structured and planned to the last details of the school day. All their teachers and staff are very knowledgeable in their subjects, articulated and approachable. There’s also, a very strong community cohesion, and with majority of the parents being involved with the daily school run and their childrens’ academic education.

School offers varieties of before and after school clubs run by teachers or private individuals who are experienced and professionals in their field of work. They also, offer courses for parents who do not speak English or whose first language is not English, and extra 1:1 daily support for EAL new pupils.

I’ve observed 6 different schools in 3 boroughs and nothing compares to this school of what I’ve witnessed. Additionally, SEN children are well supported and progress rapidly. Pupils are well behaved and caring (in the playground they told me “caring is sharing”). (To headteacher: your pupils are due medals) They have psychologists, language therapists and trained staff and volunteers who are equipped in dealing with behaviours and other issues all year round.

On the negative side, their performance results are not on top of the league table compared to neighbouring independent schools (there are few in the borough) but this isn’t a private/prep school. Maybe the best school isn't the one with the best results! Nonetheless, if you want your child to go to a secondary grammar then this school will be their foundation to get to that stage.

To sum it up, if you live in Newham/Waltham Forest boroughs, and somehow managed to get a space in this school then count your lucky stars as this is the school for your child/(ren) to attend for their best chances into grammar or for the top 10 best secondary schools. As for the APS keep up with the good work and community spirit. If you want to stay AHEAD and keep up with your OUTSTANDING grade 1, provide greater challenge in reading and writing at key stage 1 so that the proportion of pupils reaching higher levels in literacy and numeracy by the end of Year 2 increases to levels at least similar to those in science and mathematics.

Very good inclusive school which my daughter attends. It is rated outstanding by OFSTED and rightly so. I would highly recommend this school to any parent thinking of sending their children there.
