This school has to be the worst organised primary school going, not only are they neglectful to the children, they also use verbal & forms of physical abuse such as pulling by the arm or carrying children with force (this is based on what I have witnessed) to discipline the children, this is bullying & should not be tolerated by teachers towards young children in their care. Do NOT be fooled by their new and improved website or very keen efforts to get you to attend their school, I have removed my child from this school as a result of catching them in the act when I was not expected to be present, the head as professional as she may look is very laid back and complacent when it comes to the actions of her staff and takes very serious matters lightly.
My daughter has gone a whole day including after school hours with no food (they did not communicate this to me or the after school club members of staff, just incase she may be ill or be very dehydrated), other than breakfast with me I had no call to inform me, my child has also gone a whole day when she was in the nursery drowsy and sleeping burning hot, still no contact and she was in a serious condition and had to be taken to A&E, they are also very happy for the children to go a whole day having consumed no water (be prepared if you send your children here to come home with the same amount of water you sent them with). They have no sense of communication with the parents and their admin is very much a joke, getting them to take responsibility for their actions would be lets say a.....miracle.
I cant speak for all the parents but these are just a snippet of the issues with the school and I am not the only parent with discrepancies' and plan for their children to leave or have removed their children/child from the dwelling already.
P.S If you have a disabled child do not expect support from them, I have spoken to more than one parent who have had on going problems trying to get support from their disabled children or children with behaviour problems, and if you expect efforts to be made with events....think again that does not happen here the parents do almost everything and very rarely do the teachers participate, and the PTA is very weak, very few parents actively take part (I guess that's due to lack of support from the head and staff but then again a lot of members of staff are not happy with the schools organisation either. Also you are never updated on your child's progress or ever see any work they do unless its parents evening or you request and 2 days later they give you something rushed and it seems high view are very keen to make their SATS results and attendance results speak for the school as a whole, their approach to attendance and lateness is boarder line harassment I have seen a lot of upset parents aswell as know some who have experienced this... sorry for the long essay but I sent my child here as a last result and now I know why I just want others to be prepared do not opt for here as a last result, homeschool if that is an option for you until something better becomes available.
BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The school is constantly improving, the head teacher is extremely proactive and enthusiastic making sure the improvements are tangible.
The rest of the staff also seems to have the same positive approach and the pupils do seem happy, safe and settled.
All in all the school feels like a happy and safe place for the children and the voice of the parents is always welcome and appreciated.
It would be nice if more and more parents gave their support to the school and got involved with the school's initiatives.
I've seen the school constantly improving in these 2 years, from the facilities available for the children to the communication with parents. Being a small school, it allows parents to have a more personal relationship with teachers who are always happy to have a chat should you have any concerns about your child. I experienced a little personal issue with my daughter and they were very responsive and quick to support her.
There is also a good choice of after school clubs and my daughter particularly enjoys Spanish.
I know the school still suffers from a poor reputation of the past years. This is such a shame as lots of things have changed are constantly improving. It's definitely a good and safe place for your children that I am happy to recommend.
