William Byrd Primary Academy

I did work experience here last year in August as part of my Level 2 childcare course. I was put into a class with a lovely bunch of children. The only issue was the teacher. She was nice and friendly when I'd first met her but then not only did she start being really horrible to me, but to the children aswell. I was spoken to really disgustingly only because I did ONE, ONE little thing that had upset her and then she'd decided to blank me every single day I was there, not only did she blank me but she decided to kick me out of the school so I then had to find another placement. The only ever time she'd talked to me after making me look like a total idiot in front of the children, was when she told me to go and help the other teacher tidy up which I assume was her assistant, and another time when the class went to an assembly (I was only ever needed or not ignored when she guided the children out of the assembly by saying "follow amirah"
I also found that the receptionist was quite rude at first when I had phoned in to ask what I needed to wear, what time I started etc. It was really unfortunate to be put into a class & to be blanked, and told by my work place co-ordinator that the teacher no longer wanted me there. This is probably my most unfortunate experience of having to do my work experience here. It's a shame really because I met a really lovely teacher whilst I was outside in the garden with the children - I'd very much preferred to be in her class if I'm honest. How this teacher and receptionist can get away with talking to me like dirt is beyond me. If you ever have the misfortune of being put here as a work experience placement, let alone the class I was in, then I shall pray for you. However, if you do have a good experience, then well congratulations. Shame though, I'd really got on well with the children in the playground where all classes would go out after their lunch. Overall, a very very bad experience.

Excellent school. Older daughter is in reception and hopefully my younger daughter will be joining the school soon .

Well tbh this school was actually lit even the teachers as well. The work was nice and the teachers where actually fun.

My son started his nursery last year and since progressing along. Staff is professional and helpful. Highly recommend this school for any parents looking for their child's primary studies.
