What a fantastic school. I can't praise it highly enough. The quality of the teaching staff and support staff is impeccable. As a supply teacher, I work in many good schools but St. Robert's is a truly outstanding school, with a strong Catholic ethos, which is one of the reasons I chose to send my children there. They simply love school!!! If you want to know about the high standard of teaching, then you only have to read the OFSTED report. All the staff are dedicated and work hard for our children, this is evident in the events that happen outside of school hours and on weekends when the they give up their time to support our children, Catholic Sports Day and Swimming galas to name just two. It has been mentioned that the building is old and not fit for purpose but we have to remember that it is NOT funded by the government but relies on donations. It has been mentioned that parking is a problem, yes it can be, but I didn't chose the school for ease of parking, but for how well it would educate my children. The school has done a phenomenal job at that!! My son recently said "it is not the building that makes a school, but the people inside it. The people inside my school are amazing and we are like a family". I think that says it all really.

This is an outstanding school which has a dedicated teaching staff and network of support staff. The school is well supported by the local community and has an excellent approach to pupil education and welfare. The dedication of the staff is echoed in the fantastic school productions and also the commitment at attending the Bridgend School Swimming Gala and the Welsh Catholic Sports Event at Leckwith Stadium in Cardiff each year. This provides the pupils with the opportunity to attend and experience such supporting events and participate together as a school. The school also has an excellent commitment to health and well being achieving Healthy School National Quality Award status and Platinum Eco-School status. I would simply say that if you are looking to determine the quality of teaching at this school just read the latest Inspection Report. You will see from this that the school has been rated as Good in all aspects of the curriculum which typifies the schools commitment to providing a high standard of education to all pupils who attend. Both my children attend the school and their development, both in terms of education and personal progression, is testament to the excellent teaching standards in this school. I cannot praise this school highly enough and this standard of teaching is applied to all pupils who attend the school.

Stay away from this so called small, friendly, caring catholic school that takes care of every pupil. My child is now leaving after three years at the school. Yes we should of taken her from there within the first year following a parents evening where we told she was delayed in her Motor skills. This was due to her struggling to cut out shapes with a sciccors. During the appointment I simply asked if they could show me what sciccors she was using, only to find they were making her use a right handed one when the child is left handed... surprise surprise when given the right equipment we were told she was very competant with them!! More recently the school have been far from supportive when it comes to Any kind of issue. Be warned, if your not on the board of governors, PTA or a member of staff, then basically your child will simply be a statistic and a pot of money to them, not a pupil. The ethos of the school is far from Christian like.... they have no issue with using the kids like pawns in a game. They have no concern with moving them around different classes, taking them away from their peers, holding them back a year with no justifiable reason, all to make numbers fit. Yet I guarantee their children would never be one of those held back!! You can never get to speak to anyone during school hours as they never answer the phone, so god help should you have an emergency. They fail to notify you of your child has a bump to the head or an accident and constantly look down their noses at any parent who is not a part of the school "click" they hound parents for money every term yet the school is in a general run down state. If you want your child in a school where their welfare and happiness along with education actually matter then please think about an alternative school. I would never recommend this small run down narrow minded clicky uncaring school to anyone!!!!

I attended this school for all of my primary years and I enjoyed every minute there! It was more calm and relaxing compared to what other people tell me about their primaries.
