Probably the worst Primary school in the area. Our daughter attended this school when we moved to the area. After around 18 months it was clear that all was not well. There was no homework coming home, the same reading book all the time coming home. We made a appointment to see the Head Teacher. She just banged on about "Cut Backs" and how there are destructive children in the school that take up the teachers time dealing with them. This filled us with absolutely no confidence whatsoever. Our Daughter would come home upset because she could not get a new reading book and could not get help with her work because the Teacher was always failing to control the class.
You only need to check the recent Ofsted reports to see that this is now a failing school.
I said that I wanted to have another meeting in a Month to see if any changes had been made. However I did not wait this long and the following day arranged to visit another nearby Primary school. The difference is amazing! She is learning more, her confidence has grown and she is happy to be there. The new School is lovely, Teachers always happy to see you and the children are much better behaved. As the village is very small, word does travel and know of other Parents that have taken their Children out of this school because of the same or similar reasons. It really is a shame as this school has potential to be a real gem.
