Expert Tutors: Grammar School Teacher GCSE A-Level Maths & Science

Kamal Patel was tutoring my eldest son and now he’s tutoring my younger one. He has helped my elder son progress from A-level Mathematics to university, studying a degree requiring maths. Now he’s helping my younger son progress from GCSE mathematics to A-level mathematics. He has been outstanding to us for the past three years. Highly recommend him to anybody whose children want to excell in mathematics!

A lot of access to exam questions that we did in class and Mr Patel had books full of them, a little disappointed that they costed money which I did not end up paying. Regardless a helpful tutor focuses a lot on Pure rather than Applied but is understandable as Pure has more value. I still do recommend this tuition if you want to achieve high grades

I writing this review for Kamal Patel who is an exceptional talent as a teacher.. His teaching skills is very simple and effective..not many people you see like him.. Very professional and ethical personality... Highly recommended for any student or parent who is looking to shapen their skills.

Mr Patel has tutored my son very effectively. His teaching style was very sensitive , engaging and attuned to my son. He is highly professional and vey knowledgeable in his field .

I cannot recommend Kamal highly enough! I really struggled with A Level Maths and by the time I met him, my confidence was completely knocked from repeatedly getting bad results and poor feedback from my sixth form teachers and other tutors I had tried. It was affecting my other A Level subjects too.

His mathematical knowledge is impeccable - this stood out to me because I had prior experience with other teachers/tutors who had been stumped by my questions (especially on trickier topics e.g. integration). He tailors his teaching style to the individual. Once I started with him, I actually understood the topics that had baffled me for so long.

Also, I think what really made a marked difference for me was that I knew he sincerely cared for my overall academic success and that really reflected in the way he dealt with me. He went beyond the bounds of a maths tutor and helped me to strategise overall. Suffice to say, by implementing his ideas, and with his endless support and encouragement, my grades (and self-confidence) completely transformed.

I got back in touch with him recently and had to thank him again for his help. I went to Durham to study Law and the studying techniques, discipline and self-assuredness I learnt by working with him equipped me to hit the ground running in my degree too. I would not have imagined that studying Maths at A Level would contribute to attaining First-Class Honours in a subject like Law, but the skills/mindset he teaches are transferable. I sincerely do feel that these things helped me to succeed at university.

Once again, I cannot recommend him highly enough. And Kamal, thank you for always being my well-wisher!

Our child been tutored here for nearly two years for GCSE. I found him through Google search as he is registered with many tutor agencies.

He advertised himself as a Grammar school teacher (which is the main reason I went for him) but later I found out it's a false information, when asked he claimed that he WAS teaching at a Grammer school in Hertfordshire but he left the job because he is more qualified than the head teacher in the school. What an attitude! This alerted me but as we started I continued with him. His honesty and credibility came under question at this occasion.

In class he uses Mathsgenie website papers as a booklet which is freely available for everyone online. In lockdown time when classes took place online I have seen, he gives the work to the students and disappear from the class to DO HIS OWN WORK and come back after awhile. As a parent when paying for lessons, I expect the tutor should be available for the whole duration of the lesson for students to ask any doubts or questions and get it cleared, it wasn't been always possible in his classes.

To conclude I wasted my money and time with this tutor, but managed to find another tutor just 4 months before GCSE exams where the other tutor went through past papers and my child got results that he can do A level maths. My child is now doing A level maths in another tuition place in harrow and picking up very well. Gaps in his GCSE maths knowledge is covered in one to ones for him (which is working out quite expensive but I don't have any other options as I chose the wrong tutor for my child's GCSE maths).

If you really care about your child's education its better to keep away from this tuition place.

Mr Patel was my tutor for A-level maths. He provided lots of help. He would help me identify where I was weakest, and then we would be able to do loads of questions to ensure that I had a comprehensive understanding. This really helped in the exams, as when I saw a similar question I would know exactly how to answer it. Mr Patel also had a great collection of exam-style questions that really helped in your final stages of revision. He was able to provide me unique exam tips and advice that my teacher’s had not told me.
