The whole process was slower than expected, I was told around 8-12 weeks, the actual figure from full payment to first drive was 22 weeks.
After full payment it took 7.5 weeks for the car to be loaded onto a vessel at Yokohama. The plan was to pick the car up when the V5 arrived to me, but after waiting so long, I decided to pay a third party transporter myself to bring the car to me.
I feel not enough information, pictures and videos were sent to me before full payment. Some of said information & critical details I am still waiting for, and will never receive.
The spec list I was given about the car was basic, and also incorrect. The milage was wrong (its actually lower than quoted) and also the car is 2 years older than I was told.
MOT was completed with a "temporary fog" as I was waiting for Carson Performance to fit me a fog into the factory position, however when I had the car collected it wasnt done, so I question if a temporary fog was even used, as there were other (small) things on the car that shouldnt've passed an MOT. The keys were handed over to my car recovery driver, and the car was loaded and taken away, without anyone questioning it/contacting me to check that I had actually arranged this.
The car had a flat tyre and was dirty when collected, it was cleaned on collection from the port, but I think they should be cleaned prior to collection instead.
It also had literally nothing inside, no paperwork, details, information, parts etc and also the gear knob was (and still is) missing.
I was going to have to drive my new dirty skyline home for 3 hours with no gear knob and with a slowly deflating rear tyre, not the ideal experience.
Overall the car is amazing and I am very happy with it, and would have struggled to get one without JapwestMods.
My advice is, do as much research and get as much information as you can (pics, videos, paperwork & proof) before making your mind up and sending the full amount.
He kept me well informed and let me know when there was a delay, which there generally is when it comes to shipping stuff from Japan.
The Bumper arrived in good time and in 1 piece.
Great service, thank you.
Order taken, money paid in - yet nothing delivered months on. No answers, no refund, nothing. Stay away like the plague.
