Wow this place definitely lives up to the hype! I had the Miso Butter Corn & Spicy Mala Miso Veggie Ramen, both were beyond tasty and so full of flavour. The restaurant has a really cool vibe, the staff were really friendly and the service was great. Cant wait to return to try the rest of the menu.

Man, Matsudai really is a one-of-a-kind ramen experience. The interior of the Bank, the place in which Matsudai is situated, encapsulates everything you'd expect in a Japanese ramen bar, fused with beautiful influences of Wales throughout, it's imperatively a must for anyone who appreciates good, belly warming grub.

I've predominantly ordered kits from Matsudai over the years. Firstly, I was ordering by myself; I'd prepare the kit and sit at the table with a beer, and mr mrs, and we'd natter about our week. She would giggle about how enamoured I actually was for these bowls of ramen that I was eating on a bi-weekly basis. It didn't take long 'til she was part of the experience though, and we set up a monthly subscription. Now, it's literally one of our most looked forward to nights of each month.

Each bowl doesn't miss, and the crew over Matsudai will adhere to your tastebuds and recommend certain bowls depending on your pallet (what they have on offer). Luckily for them, they're so good at what they do, you can't really go wrong. Tonkotsu, shio, shoyu and my most favourite, Miso. They all have their own traits, and they are all top drawer.

You won't find ramen like it elsewhere in Cardiff, and I'd put my life on it. If you are ordering online or visiting the restaurant. Only issue is, once you've had it once, you're going to be pining for it again and again.

One of our favourite spots for food with friends. Been here a few times and the food is always spot on and it’s the best ramen spot in Cardiff. The menu is always changing so you can always expect a new flavour each visit.

Brilliant food in a buzzy and cool restaurant. I live in Swansea and it's definitely worth the trip/ Do not miss the mushroom karaage and the shiso G&T, I've never seen these anywhere else in Wales. The ramen is top quality and there's always a range of different styles. My favourite is the sunset red with extra spice bomb, so great. On my last visit there was a snafu with our order, they were really apologetic and sorted it out with no fuss and a few free extras. Can't fault

From pop ups to residencies to their own restaurant, I've been enjoying Matsudai ramen for years. Fantastic vegan options that have only got better as they've expanded their menu. Last month we enjoyed roasted broccoli gyoza, vampire slayer (garlic heavy) ramen and some spicy kimchi on the side - all vegan and all fantastic. My only criticism is the beers are overpriced and would prefer something on tap over bottles.

Incredible! Quite frankly the best meal I have ever eaten. The broth is addictive. The chashu pork melts in your mouth. The eggs are jammy and just flippin lush. Noodles are perfect, miles ahead of the bland supermarket stuff we're used to.

We've had the opportunity to have the ramen delivery as well as eat at The Bank earlier this year, and every time its been exceptional. The ramen kits are super easy to assemble too.

I tell everyone about Matsudai. Living in South-East England, people think I'm mad ordering ramen from Cardiff but I love supporting the hard work that the Matsudai gang put in. It's obvious from the quality of ingredients and taste/flavour of the dishes that they are passionate about their craft.
Keep up the good work!

Finally an authentic and dedicated Ramen place in Cardiff which we are proud of. The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing with a lot of vegan options.

We visited a couple of weeks back and had a really nice time. The food was incredible (just like the kits but even better) and it’s definitely worth visiting the restaurant. Slight issue with service to begin with as we were forgotten about but it was easily sorted and then a great evening after that.

We will definitely visit again.
