Following a short notice move of a long term tenant back to her home country, Chloe and Frankie at Mayfair Properties moved quickly to oversee the marketing for and selection of a new tenant for my flat in Bristol. This was all done within 3 days whilst my former tenant was still in situ. The check-out procedure, the compiling of a new inventory and other legal requirements for the check-in of my new tenant were all carried out efficiently. I was kept informed at all times. I have been renting with Mayfair for two years and they had continuously been unprofessional for the entire period of being in the property. Not once did i meet anyone from the company where you normally be greeted by them. When we had very minor issues with the property they took a very long time to get back. I had a broken window in December and they did not fix for 6 WEEKS. Through the coolest months of the year. To top it off the new landlords of dropped Mayfair as a company which was a surprise to everyone and Frankie Bath who we were dealing with put at the end of the email after informing us once went 'Please do not contact me or Chloe anymore' which is very unprofessional and I will avoid dealing with her at all costs in the future think twice about going with this company as they have not been helpful in the slightest. I also advice Frankie finds another role that does not involve dealing with the public as I have had multiple friends deal with her in the past and have been disgusted by her attitude.

The letting department of the Clifton office have been excellent in finding a tenant for my flat. I had an unexpected problem just before the new tenant moved in, Frankie and Chloe were calm and professional and very supportive. I would definitely recommend this branch. Tony Wood

Avoid Mayfair at all costs - their Bristol branch has been nothing but a headache for the past year and I'm very glad the landlord changed agent.

Never in all my years of renting have I ever despaired so much at the level of inexperience and unprofessionalism in a business. Is it so hard to just be polite in a call or an email when an issue is raised?

In the past 5 months they have lost just as many lettings and branch managers, meaning we were constantly redirected to new and inexperienced staff who were uniformed and, at times, so rude.

Avoid working with Frankie if at all possible - she is rude and has indicated no experience in tenancy law or lettings management.

Richard, Rebecca and Lydia were the best staff they had, and all left within weeks of each other and the replacements have been less than adequate causing a lot of frustration within the Block.

What made matters worse was that staff never passed on messages and maintenance issues took months to fix.

Example: A carpet strip took a year for someone to instal because they no showed or showed up with the wrong equipment and the issue constantly dropped off their list. Maybe Mayfair should use a reporting software to track things as it was so frustrating having to continuously feedback and restart the process of getting repairs done?

It's just ridiculous - no one should have to send out 20+ messages just to get a carpet strip fitted.

Our intercom was broken for a year, and as a top floor resident walking down 8 flights of stairs just to open the door, I'm sure you can understand how unfair this was on us - they just didn't care. They constantly made excuses as to why no one was called out to do the repair.

Their new person Frankie even went as far as to threaten me with the prospect of eviction once the property was sold by 'passing on the difficulties' they had had with me because I was frustrated that they kept 'losing track' of our maintenance issues.

Let me just add, that threat is both unreasonable given the circumstances and illegal. This forced me to report them to Head Office because they refused to be civil on the phone or in emails.

From what I understand, Frankie still works at the branch and we have never received an apology.

I've never experienced anything like this - and I have encountered dodgy agents in the past.

Unfortunately, in trying to keep them updated every time someone new came along it just became VERY clear how unbelievably disorganised and unprofessional the whole group is.

As someone who has tried to organise work on behalf of the block, let me tell you how glad the residents are that Mayfair is gone and we welcome the new management team who are already addressing the issues Mayfair neglected for months.

Shame on these people and for the way they have treated us. If you can, choose any other agent for property management.

We've been with them for about 2 years in Bristol. Dealt with Chloe and Frankie from Clifton office mainly and they have always been good at resolving. If an issue occurs in the property, they will send someone to have a look straightaway and fix it accordingly. Highly recommended!

Rented a property for 18 months. Chloe and Frankie were always very polite, courteous and professional. Fixed the very few problems that occurred swiftly, communicated efficiently and always treated us with respect and were very understanding when running into personal difficulties due to covid-19.
