Never in all my years of renting have I ever despaired so much at the level of inexperience and unprofessionalism in a business. Is it so hard to just be polite in a call or an email when an issue is raised?
In the past 5 months they have lost just as many lettings and branch managers, meaning we were constantly redirected to new and inexperienced staff who were uniformed and, at times, so rude.
Avoid working with Frankie if at all possible - she is rude and has indicated no experience in tenancy law or lettings management.
Richard, Rebecca and Lydia were the best staff they had, and all left within weeks of each other and the replacements have been less than adequate causing a lot of frustration within the Block.
What made matters worse was that staff never passed on messages and maintenance issues took months to fix.
Example: A carpet strip took a year for someone to instal because they no showed or showed up with the wrong equipment and the issue constantly dropped off their list. Maybe Mayfair should use a reporting software to track things as it was so frustrating having to continuously feedback and restart the process of getting repairs done?
It's just ridiculous - no one should have to send out 20+ messages just to get a carpet strip fitted.
Our intercom was broken for a year, and as a top floor resident walking down 8 flights of stairs just to open the door, I'm sure you can understand how unfair this was on us - they just didn't care. They constantly made excuses as to why no one was called out to do the repair.
Their new person Frankie even went as far as to threaten me with the prospect of eviction once the property was sold by 'passing on the difficulties' they had had with me because I was frustrated that they kept 'losing track' of our maintenance issues.
Let me just add, that threat is both unreasonable given the circumstances and illegal. This forced me to report them to Head Office because they refused to be civil on the phone or in emails.
From what I understand, Frankie still works at the branch and we have never received an apology.
I've never experienced anything like this - and I have encountered dodgy agents in the past.
Unfortunately, in trying to keep them updated every time someone new came along it just became VERY clear how unbelievably disorganised and unprofessional the whole group is.
As someone who has tried to organise work on behalf of the block, let me tell you how glad the residents are that Mayfair is gone and we welcome the new management team who are already addressing the issues Mayfair neglected for months.
Shame on these people and for the way they have treated us. If you can, choose any other agent for property management.
