Allison at Savills has been the loveliest estate agent I have ever dealt with. Not only were all her communications clear and easy, she was approachable, knowledgeable and kind. My husband gets very stressed at house viewings which she sensed and gave him lots of space and answered all his questions clearly. We also had our 4yr old with us who wanted to run riot through the house, Allison played with him for a while which gave my husband and I am opportunity to discuss and show each other things about the house. We placed our untypical thatched house in north Essex with Savills Ipswich following an abortive attempt using a local agent. The team at Savills were professional, personable and marketed our property with skill and diligence.

Savills excellent house viewing guide, Allison Dunn, took time to view the house herself and take in the various quirks and foibles of its 600-year metamorphosis from grain barn to four bedroom house. Her experience, her subsequent knowledge of the house, working with us to understand its history, and her polite, friendly manner, were invaluable in providing potential buyers with a mine of information about the property and the surrounding area’s amenities and attractions.

Our property attracted attention from much further afield than the previous, local agent could muster, even with Rightmove and OnTheMarket assisting them. Savills had advised that their nationwide network of branches and client base would be used to find interested parties and this proved to be the case. Our eventual buyer came from Maidstone, Kent.

The team adapted quickly to the way I wanted to collate information from the chain of buyers and established a good rapport with me, providing a single point of contact for all my enquiries. My contact, Alex McNab, was excellent at hunting down information and providing it to me on a timely basis. In Alex’s absence, several other team members were always well informed and ready to assist me.

A final mention must go to Peter Ogilvie who manages the team at Savills and who was the initial contact for the valuation, pricing strategy and assessment of the house. His depth of experience and calm demeanour helped immensely when problems in the chain surfaced and threatened to disrupt progress.

In summary, Savills charge a premium over many estate agents but provide a premium service for it. I’d have no hesitation using their services again and would recommend them wholeheartedly.
