A big thank you to Samantha and the team at Redkey, they acheived a great price on the sale of my property and acheived the sale within 3 days. WOW. The sale went smoothly and promptly and assisted me with any help I needed. Will be recommending you to friends and family. 5*

There's a certain spark about Jessica. I've been unsuccessfully looking for a place to rent in Newport for about a month before I've met the Redkey's girl. The rest is history :-) She kind of knew exactly what I wanted a lot better than I did. Or so it seems :-) I am writing this from my new home overlooking the Usk river where I've been for a number of weeks now, and I can't believe how happy I am with the apartment. Immensely grateful to Jess as well as to all other charming ladies I've met in the process. Redkey has stolen my heart. Never thought of an Estate Agents in these terms before. But then again, I've never dealt with Welsh estate agents before either :-)

Where to even start! If you’re looking for an agency that will actually help you, then look no further. Richard and Callie have been amazing and helped deal with obstacles that most business would leave you to deal with by yourself, fast, quick, easy service and super friendly. I can not recommend highly enough. Thank you team RedKey! I look forward to continuing use of their service’s!

There isn’t really enough words to describe how fantastic I’ve found my experience with RedKey, new to the area RedKey team were more than helpful. They really take the time to help you through the whole process, and get to know your circumstances and find the best solution, by far the best letting agents in the south of wales, and I look forward to carrying on a relationship with the business in the years to come! Redkey should be your first port of call when renting in Newport!

MAJOR RED FLAGS

Yesterday, (Thursday, 27th May) we have viewed a 2-bedroom flat at 7 Glen Avon House, Newport City Centre. The viewing was hosted by Harriet.
She wasn't wearing a mask, and didn`t tell us the reason why. We would understand if she`d been vaccinated and immune, but at least she should have informed us. The same way she didn't give us a reason why she turned up late.

The previous tenant was at the property, and the way Harriet treated him was alarming and inhumane, so bad, we were considering to leave at one point.

We got to the top floor of the building, she firmly knocked on the door, and my boyfriend and I didn't comprehend why the previous tenant was still there, and why we were invading his privacy.

After about three minutes of invasive knocking and shouting inside, Harriet took her keys out and started opening the locks without the tenant's consent. He ran to the front door to ask for more time, as he must have slept in. Harriet just said "didn't you know we were coming"? We do understand that most of this might have been the previous tenant's fault, and that he in fact was informed about us coming, but it still came across extremely invasive, as he was literally sitting on his bed while we viewed the property.

We have obviously decided not to risk renting a flat with Red Key, and the other reason is all the one star reviews online, dozens of them warning us that Red Key takes the deposit as fake cleaning fees, or doesn't attend to a property when a tenant is in dire need of help.

The way Harriet treated us and that guy, and what the negative reviews say is alarmingly unprofessional. The flat was incredibly dirty, which was a problem that the previous tenant caused, but for some reason all the negative reviews also mention dirty, faulty flats with this agency.

It was also a major red flag how immediately upon leaving the property, my partner and I were first enthusiastic and contacted the agency about proceeding with renting the place, yet following several phone-calls and emails they haven't gotten back to us for hours - only once we had literally written to them how much money we have in our savings.

All in all, we will make sure to let future landlords and tenants know not to choose Red Key, and we're writing in hope that maybe this behaviour does not represent the owner or the company.

My advice to anyone thinking of renting with Red Key is to take photos of every inch of the property the day they move in because when it comes time to leave, they will fleece you for every penny of your Security Deposit.

And don’t even get me started on the effectiveness of their repair standards. A leaky gutter? No problem, we’ll just bodge it with some bathroom sealant! Crack in the wall? Of course we won’t come back to fix it! But we’ll certainly charge you for the faults that were already present when you moved in.

The gall on display from Red Key is truly something to behold! And the best part? They even acknowledged they’d received our emails reporting faults, they’d clearly just chosen to ignore it.

I have just one question now. If Red Key can bill me for things that we as tenants didn’t do, can I send them a rent refund request for not holding up their end of the deal either?
