Castle Estates

I was a tenant and Castle Estates were so good, when I later purchased a property and wanted to rent it out, I went back to them as a Landlord. In both circumstances they have been absolutely brilliant and I would recommend them to anyone. The poor reviews are probably from disgruntled tenants who, like my current tenant, have not paid their rent and then wonder why they get asked to leave. Castle have managed the situation through my insurance and I am very impressed so far. That said, my tenant still hasn't been evicted but hopefully that is in hand. He hasn't paid any rent since December last year, it's not almost May, but my insurance has covered my losses.

Would not go near this place if it were the last place available I'd rather sleep in a tent to be honest
Rented through them for 6 years and paid on time every month usually had to ring 3 or 4 times before any one replied and when we moved out along came a list of such pitiful and minor things that needed doing for them to let it out again we had previously offered to replace the cheap carpets 3 years earlier at no cost to the landlord and were denied finally we had to let them take 300 pounds of our deposit for some chalk on the wall outside the paint wasn't 100% on one wall and the skirting boards weren't 100% clean and the oven hadn't been cleaned to there standards

Rented a property for 2 years with this Letting Agency! They were always helpful and quick in doing everything we needed. Also good to mention very friendly and nice staff! A shame that we needed to move to another town and could no rent with them anymore.

Poor service throughout our short tenancy, when it froze really badly last February our boiler broke down and we were freezing we called castle estates and informed them my wife was pregnant they just kept telling us to pour boiling hot water on the pipes which we had done for the previous few hours before calling. Eventually we called our supplier at the time EON who were concerned about what we were describing they sent someone out and low and behold we had a gas leak! But castle estates just didn't want to know. We had to have emergency gas works through the night.

Also once we came to leave they charged extortionate fees for everything and we saw £90 of our over £800 deposit. They are also the only estate agent I've dealt with who charge you a fee for them telling another estate agent that you rented with them! ( a reference) we've moved on to better things thank God and wouldn't look back.

If you want a company that doesn't care about you and never want to see your deposit again these are your guys. Oh they also charge stupid fees just for applying. ( I have been renting properties since I was 18 and have never had such abysmal service )

Poor service the whole length of tenancy. Constant visits and told the when becoming quarterly which never happened. Entered the property without notice. When wanted to move property had no assistance in looking or viewing any other properties. When ending tenancy made no contact to confirm tenancy had ended but yet have advertised the property for viewing.
