My poor 86 year old mother who lives on her own in one of your retirement flats has been without hot water for 3 days now despite us reporting it to you. We've now been told it will be tomorrow morning before he arrives.... 4 days later. Disgraceful.

We liked it enough to decide that we will rent a flat there!

I rent a studio flat and I absolutely love it. The flat is the right size for one person plus I have my independence and help is just a tug of the red cord away, if I need it. Girlings are good with repairs and on the few times I've needed someone, they come the next day. The rent is reasonable, and I can highly recommend them.

Would highly recommend Girling's if you are wanting to rent in retirement. They are an excellent experienced team who are helpful throughout the initial processes. After you've moved in their assistance continues and nothing is too much for them. They understand the elderly and all that entails. It's great to have the comfort of an assured tenancy agreement, so you have a home for life. Plus, no worries about laundry facilities or maintenance as it's all included in your rent. We've rented through them for seven years now and had no regrets.
However, our particular property has the landlord of Retirement Rentals Limited (not Girling's who were simply the management agent). RRL decided to move all their 5,000+ properties away from Girling's and set up instead My Forever Living. The company was incorporated in April 21 and the management responsibilities for their properties with Girling's moved to them on 1st July 21. This action appears to have been taken far too quickly before all services to new tenants and current tenants were in place. There is only one contact phone number and invariably that doesn't work. Frustrating when we are used to the excellent service from Girling's. Expect it is teething troubles but My Forever Living should know and understand the demographic of their tenants that they are elderly and often not used to technology so still prefer to talk to a human being rather than filling a form in online. Hopefully, they will get organised over the coming months.

Specialist in retirement rental properties which are not always well covered on other national sites. Some are originally McCarthy Stone properties which all have the same layout. A good place to look when others are lacking & service is very professional

Didn't go through with rental. No floor plan was available and on viewing the layout didn't really work. Disappointing after travelling miles!
