I picked up a selection of classic Beatles, Who and Motown era records on 7" single 45s, Back In Black used and a few new ones I've wanted on record for ages including There Is Nothing Left To Lose and The Bends. There's even some freebies out the front you can help yourself to if you choose!
Simon the owner is a top bloke, very welcoming and attentive when you mention you're looking for something specific. I expect, knowing that a few of the older Beatles records would be well worn (they were) he gave me an eye-popping jaw-dropping discount, I mean it must have been 40-50% of what the regular prices would have been which is just stunning. Very much a man who takes care of music lovers, this one.
As it's about 10 miles down the road from where I live and stocks a great selection (I could easily have spent several hundred there, not just £100 including discount) I can see a lot of happy hours digging through the racks in future. Even struck up an interesting conversation to a chap named Phil or Pete about the merits of Golden Earring beyond their hit Radar Love, another album that's now on my radar to buy in future as I loved the album when it was playing in store - pun very much intended on that one.
Great place, real old school record shop vibe, as it should be. Customer for life here.
If you love your music and love the crackling sound of vinyl then this is where you need to go.
Got my wedding song for my wife on our anniversary, it wasn't just sitting on the shelves, he had to hunt it down for me.
Week later I had it in my hands in really good condition...
Thank I will be back for more.
Owner is welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. You could do a lot worse than pay Vinyl Matters a visit. I certainly will be back.
