Peckham Soul

Can't speak for ordering online but I was surprised to see the reviews complaining about delivery. Visiting the shop in the off chance, they let me in even though they hadn't opened up yet. The guy behind the till was really friendly and we exchanged bands. It's a small space but I was able to find loads of great records, some known, some new discoveries that they welcomed me to listen to before buying. Best of all I found a DJ pre-release version of a really rare song I love which had alternate mixes you can't find online. Check when they're open and go in person for a great vinyl collecting experience, I was there for a decent hour.

Bought a T-shirt but told its out of stock…zero communication, no response to emails
Eventually went in person to the shop only to find the T-shirt I wanted on the rack….kind lad on the tills sorted it out
Bit peeved I paid £3.00 postage and had to go pick it up myself 🤬
On the plus side it’s a great record shop but the guy doing the online sales needs to up his game

I read the reviews before ordering from Peckham Soul and dismissed the one by Ewan Scott as a one off. How wrong was I! I ordered two records shown as being in stock and received an order confirmation which I thought looked professional and reassuring. Then nothing happened.

I followed up a week later with an email and got no response. I gave it another week and sent another email. After another week I was still waiting for a response.

Now starting to get concerned about my order I communicated through PayPal with Craig hoping I would get an update on what was happening with my order. Still nothing.

In the end I was forced to raise it as a dispute with PayPal who settled in my favour and refunded me. As a collector of vinyl I have bought over the years from many sellers but by far this is the worst experience I have had.

Great selection of records but such a shame for the poor level of customer service. Being a small independent business is not an excuse to provide terrible customer service let alone NOT sending any of the items I’ve purchased. Don’t waste your time like I did, it’s been 4 months since I’ve ordered and paid for these records, I have had minimal contact from any staff from Peckham soul including Craig. Every email that I did get a reply from completely avoided my queries and requests. Completely left in the dark. So thanks for taking my money! :) keep the records and please refund my order. A really enjoyable first visit to Peckham Soul today; great, friendly service from the very nice guy behind the counter, and well-pleased with the lovely LPs and t-shirt we came away with. This is an excellent, welcoming shop that's well worth supporting - we'll be back!

Quality selection of records in an intimate and well organised space. The owner, Craig, is a boundless source of musical knowledge and treads the line of friendly and professional very well. Those complaining about customer service have got it all wrong!
