Lorenzo's (Records Wanted)

I found this place while doing a bit of walking around Peckham and was very pleasantly surprised. The reggae/dancehall section seemed scant, so I inquired if there was more in stock that I had yet to notice. Presently the owner was pulling out huge stacks of unpriced vinyl from behind the counter for me to look through, much of it classic releases on the Trojan label. The best find for me was a Dennis Alcapone LP in excellent shape, £30 I think; plus some Trojan compilations in the range of £8-10 each; but there were also many fine records all priced at a quid and, ultimately, the five or so I put aside were tossed in for free with the lot. Not only that, but the owner cleaned one of the records for me, repaired its jacket, and gave several others new inner and outer sleeves. You don't get service like this in New York. A hidden gem and highly recommended.

1 of the best record shops London has for world music and anything in between. Can't go wrong, worth the travel venturing down to SE.

Absolutely superb - lovely interior all handmade by Lorenzo. I was able to buy some 70s reggae 7 inches, a 12 inch which was on my wants list for a number of years and an album. Good prices too - well worth a visit. Will definitely go again.

Chuffed to call Lorenzo's my new local record shop. Amazing selection of music, and if you can't find it yourself Lorenzo will give you some good pointers. It's also a really clean and tidy shop which makes digging more enjoyable.
