Absolutely top-level experience! Firstly, the menu is to die for, kudos to the chef and/or menu developer - I wanted one of everything. Service was attentive and helpful from the start, the interior is beautiful. Couldn't fault the food, the four of us said every element was delicious. Would love to come back and see how the menu changes with the seasons. Favourites to call out, the Blackberry & Ginger Julep mocktail, Chinese pork cubes, Bistro rump with the red onion rings and truffle fries. Heaven!

Dropped in here without a booking and managed to get a table! Food was absolutely stunning. The steak was cooked to perfection. Loved the sides of the steak too. My partner had the burger which was also amazing.
The staff was so friendly. Definitely would recommend a visit. Will be back.

Restaurant can be accessed via some steps off the A6 or Hopping Hill anyone with mobility problems should be aware of this. We were promptly shown to our table and our drinks orders taken. Lots of room between tables and the furniture and decor is very rustic. Our orders for food was taken and any queries were promptly answered. I booked the table for 8.00 pm and noted from the confirmation that the table should be vacated by 10.00 pm. At approximately 9.30 pm we were given an apology for the waiting time, we then pushed back our taxi to 10.30 pm. When the food arrived it was beautifully presented and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Absolutely brilliant from the moment we walked in, until we left. Was served by two excellent members of staff, who made us feel really valued. A real credit to the place.
The food was amazing. The mussels are a must and the beer battered fish was the best I've ever had.
I had a slight problem with the bread served with my starter, but it was handled so brilliantly and quickly that it only helped improve our experience tonight.
It is also worth a mention that the toilets are also quality in the way that they have been designed with the kegs.
We will definitely be returning and would recommend The Palfrey to anyone that hasn't tried it yet.

Beyond impressed! The food was lovely and the staff where so approachable and I felt they really cared about our dining experience. They always mad sure the food was to our liking and if we needed anything else to improve our dining experience. As one of my guests was a celiac they took extra care when relaying the information to the chefs! We greatly appreciate this. I would definitely recommend, I will be coming here again in the near future!

My wife and I were really looking forward to dining at the Palfrey, upon arrival we were blown away by the interior design really tasteful. As we were early we were seated in the bar just as a rather loud chap was in conversation but couldn't make a sentence without inserting several expletives. This you expect in a pub but not in a venue like the Palfrey. The staff didn't ask him to moderate his language so we had to endure his gutteral language. It was really warm in the bar and I heard a few people comment how baking hot it was which is strange as most venues can't afford to heat their premises. Then we were shown to our table which had a sash window wide open which made our part of the room freezing. I immediately closed the window but it took ages for our table to warm up. The table we were seated at had a copper table which had lifted and it made it difficult to put a glass down on it. I had the rump steak which I thoroughly enjoyed my wife had the duck which wasn't. The skin was still raw and the duck difficult to cut and chew. The Dauphinoise potatoes were bland as was the kale. So one serving was 5 star the other 0. Its a shame as we were hoping it would be a new venue for us as it is very convenient.

The service is phenomenal! I was so impressed, it was full at the time but the service was swift and efficient.

The food was fantastic, while the current outdoor menu is limited, our starter and steaks were incredible! Note the pork belly cubes with sweet potato ketchup does come as a 4 but I was too greedy before taking the photo!

The outdoor eating area is in a courtyard. It was covered, 3ish tables had overhead head heating. To see then menu you have to either scan a QR code or Google it as I suspect many restaurants are doing to reduce contact. You can hire blankets with a returnable £10 deposit.

I highly recommend The Palfrey and look forward to returning myself soon.
