28 Well Hung Restaurant Old Street

Food was great. Portions are quite small so need several plates. We had the Code App so food was 50% off. Without that I would say it seems a bit pricey. Good service, the food did take a little while to come out after ordering, but it seemed this was due to everything being made fresh.

28 Well Hung serves delicious small dishes at a fantastic price. The tri-tip steak that we had was probably our top 3 favourite steaks of all time. Service was great, staff was attentive. A fantastic dining experience with delicious food. Hands down, must try.

This is a must go! I’ve been to different steak places in London but honestly Well Hung does it right! Have I mentioned that they just opened 6 weeks ago!? Could not recommend more, I’m gonna talk about this place to my friends and family. We went for bottomless brunch, they offer £45 pp mixed cocktails, Prosecco and set menu. Don’t be fooled by busy place opposite, if you want cheap processo and pizza then yes, go there. But if you want quality cocktails, excellent service and delicious, tender steak, WELL HUNG is your place! Tri tip steak and onglet steak were our choices and omg! Meat literally melt in your mouth, make sure you order courgette flowers, this thing is unreal! I have never tasted better courgette in my life. Damian and LJ looked after us with a care and patience, this definitely does into our “must visit” spots!

Really friendly staff, great food and a great ethos. I really enjoyed my kofta especially.

Some of the food was tasty but the portions were very small. The website should state more clearly that this is a tapas restaurant. It's overpriced for the dish sizes served. The coffee machine wasn't working. The waitress took too long to come over even though we were the first there and well before the lunch rush.

Visited on a Friday evening, having pre-booked a table for 4. The restaurant was not very busy, but they had just one waitress, who while very friendly , was not well trained. Service was very slow, we were going to order additional drinks and dishes, but gave up. This let down the whole experience. The food, drinks and concept is great, but there are other places doing a far better job with the service and ambience. Would not return.

Went here in July . Very different to standard restaurant. Food consists of small plates . Everything was very tasty . The service wasn’t so great . One waitress was very friendly and efficient and the others not so much . Would have preferred all our plates to arrive at the same time but instead they slowly arrived one by one . In fact one of the main course dishes was delivered after we had eaten dessert !

Booked a table in advance, arrived and got seated and told they’d bring menus. 15 mins later nothing. Eventually managed to flag down a waitress by waving our arms. Ordered a bottle of wine (that we saw by looking on their online menu) and again asked for some menus. By the time half an hour had passed since we sat down and the wine still hadn’t arrived we decided to leave. Horrible slow service, terrible experience that ruined our evening. One to be avoided unless you like sitting waiting for nothing. Also it was 8pm and everyone was drinking but nobody was eating so very much seemed like just another bar. We were hoping for an actual restaurant.

Edit: contacted them via email as they asked me to in their review response. 8 days have passed and they still haven’t replied. Obviously their social media manager is doing a good job but everybody else has dropped the ball. Very bizarre, more of my time wasted, still deserving of only 1 star!
