Tap Haus

Lovely meal, but ruined by a very long waiting time. Lots of staff standing around talking and not sure what they are doing, we got told if we order a starter or dessert we would be waiting longer than the 45 minute wait, we waited longer than this and we had to ask where our food was, I was just about to give up and walk out then it came. Great food but be prepared to wait long for it. I don't think I will eat at this branch again.

Although they take orders electronically they still get it wrong. My mate ordered 2 cappuccinos, 1 with chocolate and 1 without. 2 cappuccinos turned up both with chocolate.
I ordered the burger with chips and sauerkraut. The food turned up, burger, chips and slaw and a goats cheese salad. Both got taken away then my burger turned up, again with slaw. After the amount of time it took to arrive I couldn't be bothered telling them they messed up again and just got stuck into it.
On a positive note the burger was really nice, shame about the bun it was in.
On another negative, the staff wonder off while you're talking to them, ignorant buggers

Visited this place for the first time yesterday. Our meal was booked for 5.30. It took until 6.30 to get our starters. There was no cutlery available so had to ask for it when our starters came out. A lot of staff however absolute nightmare to actually get any table service. The food was lovely and the portions are big. The interior is lovely, ambient and comfortable seating.
One young lady was attentive when we got her attention and was polite. Other staff were hanging about and talking amongst their selves. When cleaning the tables the floor was missed. The food on the floor was visible! When leaving one young man was a bit too happy to say goodbye, yes yes goodbye goodbye. I dare say the Managers need training on how to train their staff and keep them under control and professional. Definitely will not recommend Tap haus and won't be coming back.

Fairly quiet in there during my visit. Staff were friendly and helpful - happy to allow a small sample of beer to help you make your selection. Good range of German beers along side ciders, ales and spirits. Good food menu with German specialities all of which seemed reasonably priced. Food came quickly and was tasty.

The food was quite nice. I ordered a German pork knuckle which was good, if not a little salty for my tastes. Another ordered a pie they enjoyed it, though the side veg looked like it had been out in the warming dishes for a while as they'd gone a dull colour strange as we'd got there earlier in the dinner time. BBQ ribs were nice too. Kids bangers and mash came without any veg at all which was a bit weird to not serve a dish without any veg at all. Could have added a side portion perhaps.

Service was not friendly at all. I phoned as I'd not had a confirmation of my booking and the lady that answered whilst not being rude wasn't particularly very nice over it. (I'd submitted my phone number incorrectly- my fault I want complaining about it but she was really miserable about it)

Presumably the same lady served us to take our meals and really was not friendly at all. No smiles no conversation just very matter of fact about everything. I quite like to see people enjoying working in a hospital setting but she quite clearly didn't like being there. Sad cos the food was good with a potential for really good.

It's taken me years to visit this place, and it was worth the wait. The food was amazing, my husband ordered the knuckle and we were amazed at the size of it. Friendly staff, prices were good and the food great.

Called in on the off chance Saturday lunch time. The staff, Matt and Lewis, were polite and helpful. The food was delicious, lots of choice and a wide selection of beer.

Positives - Great food, rustic decor, good selection of beer / spirits etc & generous portions.

Negatives - can't open a tab / pay at the end (that might just be in bar section), no checkback, my order was wrong, but still delicious.

Will definitely go back
