Heard so much about this place, I was not disappointed with our experience. A very large Indian restaurant. Very spacious and beautiful decor. Staff are very friendly and pleasant with uniform looking very professional. Seating area was very pleasant, with ample space for our group of 7 people. The menu has a wide range of food to cater for all palettes. We ordered some popadom with chutney and starter chop/kebab mix, mango lassi, drinks and a variety of special mains dishes from chicken, meat, biryani, tiger prawns, lentils, sag curry etc. The drinks and starters came very quickly. They were hot and tasty. When we requested more chutney we got it. Mains came straight after the staff had cleared all starter plates and gave us clean plates and cutlery. The mains food were very good portions, hot, fresh and tasty. We all enjoyed our starters and mains. We ordered ice cream desert and ended the whole evening experience with the mint chocolate at the end. A great evening, lovely atmosphere/place and fantastic food. A restaurant worth visiting if you are in Leicester.

Big car park, inside decor is pretty fancy to be honest, plenty of space for seating but always a good idea to book first as it does get busy. The food was good quality and portion size, service was good and friendly worth a visit.

I’ve been here a few times but took a friend who had never been before (we travelled 2 hours to get here). When I mentioned to the manager that my friend was a first timer, he went above and beyond to make sure it was an unforgettable experience for us.

An absolutely brilliant experience all round. The welcome, the decor, the service, food and the hospitality all impeccable and faultless. Kudos to Tipu Sultan showing everyone else how it should be done. Not a single bad word to say.

Had been to the Birmingham branch but it was all a bit underwhelming. Leicester branch was chosen by guest as a more laid back atmosphere and better food. Was not hoping for much given the previous experience but wow...food was delicious and our table was waited on by Bestin who was impeccable in his service giving. Diligently advised us that we were over ordering and suggested alternative ideas which we tried and loved. The lamb biryani is a must but all the food was delicious. Had driven a long way and I'm so glad I went as it was worth it. For a party of 9 the bill was more than reasonable. Keep up the great work!

Attended for a private birthday party. The interior decor is stunning and absolutely worth the experience. Service and cleanliness to a high standard. the food itself, very flavoursome from veg to meat dishes. I'd recommend visiting for both food and the decor and experience.

First of all, my only criticism is that I made a 100 mile journey to get to this place, only to be told by the parking attendant that there was no parking in their car park. I told the attendant that I wasn't local and needed somewhere safe to park but no help given. In the end I had to park on the main road but feel they could have done more to help.

Once inside I liked the unique setting and layout of the restaurant. You could see the open kitchen with everyone cooking away and on the opposite side you see the customers dining away. There was also a prayer room both for men and women. Only downside was that the lights inside the prayer room were on sensors so if there was no movement, the room went pitch black as I was on my own at the time. To the management of the restaurant, you need to change the timing of the sensors.

To the food, wow we ordered mixed starters which consisted of seek kebabs both chicken and lamb. Followed by chicken botis, lamb chops, fish pakora and papri chaat. All came piping hot except for the chaat which is supposed to be served cold. :) The service was very consistent throughout our stay and all the staff were very friendly even though they were very busy.

For our mains we had Karahi Gosht, Karahi Murgh, Nihari Gosht and lamb biryani. All were full of flavour and the naans were so nice and soft but also had that crispy bite to it. I would highly recommend anyone to try Tipu Sultan in Leicester as it was well worth the 100 mile trip for me. We had a nice family get together for my Sister in Law's birthday and both kids/adults thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Well done to all the staff for the quick service and making our evening so enjoyable.
