The Red Lion at Milton Bryan

Possibly the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Very friendly, fresh home cooked food, I have no idea why we had not been here before. Will certainly be back for more. Pork belly was a touch dry, but that’s the only slight criticism.

Outstandingly great dishes in every way, with no need for any pretensions. Superb food, coupled with equally good service, all at a reasonable price & in a classically charming English pub, set in a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit, or two. Top marks.

On the evening we went there was a private party going on, originally this was outside but as it got dark in spilled into the bar area making the restaurant area very noisy.
There was clearly not enough staff to deal with the party and the restaurant, consequently service was slow, whilst we were sitting for our meal there were only 2 other tables sitting for meals and these 2 weren't there at the same time and we still went to get our own menu to check what desserts they had!!
All of the above is a very big shame though as the food was excellent and if the party hadn't been on I'm sure we would have had a lovely evening.
We will try again at a much later date

Fantastic Gastro pub, food is homemade and delicious!!! We’ve been a few times now and really enjoyed it!! The burger is delicious, my husband really enjoyed the fish. The food is made with love, you can tell. We’ve been a few times now, great find!!! Very good service, friendly & attentive staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Went for Sunday Dinner on 20th November. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere, waitress (Scottish lady) was very helpful and efficient. The roast dinners were to ‘die for.’ Thank you for such a wonderful experience, we will be back! ❤️

Great meal & service brilliant.
Some of the party got delayed on M1 but waitresses were great & assured us no pressure re usual 2hr turnaround so able to relax & enjoy the food. Ham, eggs & chips with the inclusion of warm scotch egg delicious

Top gastro style pub, been twice in the last week so can tell you it's a cracking menu with great service. Things we had that were really good, butchers burger, Turkey Xmas Dinner, half chicken, oxtail pie, sticky toffee pudding. Only item of note was the squid which was very thick and for me could have been crisper. Well worth a visit, you should book in advance though.

Had lovely lunch today fish & chips for my husband & aromatic duck salad for me followed by chocolate torte for both of us delicious. Very nice staff & a good friendly atmosphere.
