Mangos of the Caribbean

I have been to Ivory lounge at least 10 times before on a Friday night with my small group of friends and the atmosphere and music is always incredible. However, last night, just like so many other Friday nights, me and my friends went to Ivory lounge. All of us are 21, which is obviously legal age to get into clubs.
A security guard who I’ve seen there before, let in all of my friends without checking their ID, but wouldn’t let me into the building and refused to check my ID. He said to me that I had to be 25 or older to get into Ivory lounge. I politely asked him why he let in all of my friends, considering none of them are over 25. His answer was simply “I don’t know”. I asked multiple people outside Ivory lounge, who had managed to get in, how old they were, all of whom were no older than 21. Another security guard was kind enough to try and let me in with my friends, but this particular man took one look at me and refused to let me or even look at my ID. The thing that angers me so much is that either he was lying about the age limit to me because he didn’t like the way I looked, or they’ve seen my ID 100 times before and break the law consistently. I am very angry and shall not be visiting again.

All of my 21 year old friends had a good night without me though.

We booked here for a Sunday meal when they do "all you can eat" Carribean menu. The service was shocking from the moment we walked in. They didn't have a table ready despite our booking and shoved 2 tables together in the middle of the room. Finally took our drinks order after 20mins and only let us order starters, telling us they would take main meal order after we finished our starters. After 1 hr, no food had materialised and we ended up leaving as we felt we would be there hours! They told us the kitchen was very busy and under pressue....then why take bookings you can't fulfil?! And they were still seating walk-ins as we left!
Just awful customer service. No apology, plenty of animosity.

Had been meaning to pop in for lunch and so glad we did the food was lovely, the service great and the prices very reasonable. Will definitely be going back.

Been back a few times now have to say not so good - shame - a lot more effort needed.

Excellent service from the barman who crafted this amazing little concoction. It was delicious and perfectly executed!

Friendly social late night drinking. Good staff and live music. Door supervision is top notch really friendly but not over friendly they look after you. The atmosphere here is great, people who come here love to dance and personally I think it's the best thing about Luton with a good mix of people think it's open till 4am

Absolutely Livid. . . First time Ordering food from here and they used justeat... as it was raining the driver didn’t even come to the door... didn’t even get out the blooming car! Just called my number... I came out trying to get his attention but watched him and his friend chilling in the car... they started driving off so I waved down the car to which they said they couldn’t find the door... but they will park up ... Lies you know! Then They drove off WITH our food! On big old Valentine’s Day! The restaurant said they can’t do anything as justeat have their own rules! Really disgusted as no solution was reached... on contacting JUST EAT the driver lied and they then said an enquiry needs to take place before I can get my £40 back!!!

I get the restaurant can’t control just eat but as a representation of your establishment- you should be ashamed. The food itself was pretty expensive tbh but I can only hope the portion size reflects that... oh and to add to insult the food was late! I’m So gutted! Shan’t be doing that again!

We took my dad for a meal for his 80th went quite early so wasn't that busy music wasn't loud could hear everyone talk. Staff friendly and helpful. Had the Caribbean Buffet food was very good would definitely recommend a visit. Green bananas yam fish mac cheese fried and jerk chicken ( nice sauce) dumplings e.c.t. my eye's were definitely bigger than my Belly. Looking forward to going back to to see the full Caribbean menu. Everyone was happy with the evening.

I really wanted to like this place as I'm a big fan of Caribbean food however unfortunately this place really was not good. The food took over 1hr 30mins to come and the restaurant wasn't even busy, there was about 4/5 tables there with us and only 2 tables were served food in the space of time we were there. There was only one server covering the entire restaurant and we waited about 10mins for our menus until I went and grabbed them myself. The food was really bland and the portions are not great. We ordered the Goat curry and Fricassee Chicken curry as mains, both lacked taste and authentic flavours, don't want to sound rude but it tasted like curry from a jar and the rice and peas really tasted like Uncle Ben's, I was really disappointed having waited so long. Only nice thing was the drink and the jerk halloumi. Having noted the sever that the food is taking too long to come he did offer not to charge for the sides which was a kind gesture and probably the only positive. Will not come back until changes are made.
