Having eaten lunch there twice, I would highly recommend Yellow Deli for its relaxing atmosphere, cosy environment, welcoming and accommodating staff, tasty hot sandwiches and delicious cream cheese pie with strawberries! The menu is intentionally limited; what they do, they do well. It's wonderful, quirky and worth embracing for its lovely qualities.

First time visit to Honiton. When you walk into the yellow deli, we Couldn't help but smile as it's such a quirky place. If you want something a little bit different than your basic burger and chips, it is the place to go. Good value for money, and friendly staff.

What a discovery - how had we not known about The Yellow Deli. Such a great experience with lovely, friendly and welcoming staff, a great menu and absolutely wonderful food. The Deli Rose sandwich is glorious and (so we were told) is the same recipe over the last few decades. I can see why; don't change the best! Good prices and lovely toilets too.

The ethos of the community who run The Yellow Deli shines through and makes for a relaxing, unrushed experience. We will definitely be back and explore more of the lovely sounding food.

Just called in twice as unusually found myself and wife in Honiton at lunchtime within 5 days. You must visit this place! Excellent food, really friendly staff genuinely trying to ensure your visit is pleasant and memorable and prices for really varied almost unique food is such good value. The menu allows one to create their own dish and helpful advice is always available. Please believe me the people running this place are so calm and relaxed you'll have a great time in a really lovely historic building. We sat at a table called Peace and then one called Joy. Our grandchildren loved it.

Great food served by lovely people

Tasty and fresh food. Interesting combinations, welcoming and polite service. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food, service and setting.

My wife and I have only been here twice but we love the food and the overall vibe of the place. The staff are always really hospitable and friendly, happy to engage in conversation but without overdoing it. The tables are clean, with immaculate salt & pepper shakers and clean menus (rare in many places). It is a credit to the staff.

We certainly do not feel any pressure regarding the religious beliefs of the staff, which in our experience has not been imposed on us in any way. Of course, the interior has biblical murals and references (table names etc) but it's very tastefully done and in my opinion the artwork is top notch.

I've never been to a restaurant quite like it, it knocks 'themed' restaurants out of the park. We saw that they also have live music evenings which we look forward to going to. They also have a tea room near us and they have some fantastic cakes and it is a very relaxing place.

First visit, Popped in for a light lunch. Excellent attentive and friendly service. Freshly prepared tasty food.
However, when paying the bill by credit card, the waitress asked us if we'd like to add a tip onto the card payment. We feel that a tip should be discretionary, and not directly requested.
