Camped in the carpark here with little one. The staff lady was lovely, served really nice red wine and we got pizza from Little Jon's who comes on a Monday night. Best pizza I've ever had!
The toilets were lovely and clean and the locals were friendly too.
There's plenty of level parking around the back. We had a great night's sleep and in all I'd definitely recommend staying here 👌😁!

Very disappointed to say the least. Arrived for a family meal at 4:30pm on a Sunday. We phoned before-hand to confirm there was a regular menu and not just a Sunday menu like other nearby pubs, but we we're told MULTIPLE times there was BOTH a Sunday menu and a regular menu. We arrived at 4:30 to a group of people sat at out table that we'd were told had been reserved for us. After 1 round of drinks we weren't given our menus for another 1 hour.
We were eventually given the SUNDAY menus after this hour (which we had to ask twice for) and were told there was no normal menu despite the phone call confirming there would be.
This killed the mood very quickly.
30 minutes later we ordered to a member of staff who didn't seem like they wanted to be there, and waited a further hour for our food which was mediocre at best.
No member of staff asked us if we wanted more drinks or even if the meal was okay.
Also the male toilet door was hanging off its hinges and was VERY dirty, and glasses from previous customers were left uncollected for HOURS.
This pub is nothing but a shadow of its former self and we are all SO disappointed with it.
Will definitely not be returning

Great place for daily menu, nice staff and not too busy.
Music at first was a little not in theme but was turned off in the end. Service is fairly quick but there is wait for starter and mains.
Drink wise latter was 3/10 unfortunately very bitter and hardly enjoyable, pepsi max was good.
Had creamy mushroom starter that was nice but also very filling - 7/10, mains of pie of the day was gorgeous 8/10 and desert of apple crumble with ice cream was the best part of all meal 8/10. Overall not a bad experience at all!

Friends had lamb liver with mashed potatoes 8/10 and fish and chips 8/10, brownie and ice cream 9/10.

This is our 4th/5th visit to The Reindeer since the new owners took over, really happy with the changes that have taken place, improved menu, beautiful food, we try to choose something different each time and so far haven’t been disappointed and the desserts are to die for, especially the coconut jam sponge. Service really good and lovely staff, Sophie and Ryan are very professional and friendly. Would highly recommended trying The Reindeer out.

Dropped in the Old Reindeer pub towards the end of long walk and decided to try their Sunday roast - very nice. Very pleasant and helpful staff, nice and clean place that is smartly decorated and offers a warm welcome. Would happily revisit when next in the area.

We have been having lunch at the Old Reindeer on most Sundays for over seven years. Today the place was nearly empty. It is not so long ago that you had to book. Why the change? There is nothing unique. Basically there is a choice of Sunday lunch. There is nothing to recommend it. I ask the owners to visit the Rancliffe Arms in Bunny and sample their carvery which is much closer to what gave the Old Reindeer its reputation when I first went. There is nothing to make anyone recommend the Old Reindeer at the moment. Something needs to change urgently if the Old Reindeer is to survive.

Been there a few times now under the new management and every time has been lovely.
The first time we went we had food in the bar, I had gammon and my husband had fish and chips, All cooked perfectly. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We got chatting to Tom whom was just lovely. We wanted to go back when Tom was working as he really looked after us.
We went back a second time, this time we sat in the restaurant, again, service was brill and not much of a waiting time to say how busy it was. We went again today for lunch and again busy but lovely attentive staff and not long await on food but no Tom today. We will be back for sure

Had a Christmas dinner with friends and family. The food was excellent, well cooked and more than enough. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The venue is very clean with a large car park at the rear.
Recommended.
