The food was beautiful, but very small plates. I think I counted 8 chips on my plate. The meals were quite pricey too, as we're the drinks. The lady serving us was lovely however. We're looking for a regular place to meet up on a Friday evening, and I'm sad to say that The Welcome will not be it! Also, on arrival, we all commented it should be known as The Unwelcome, as we had a frosty greeting. 😕 Sorry. But like I said, the food was faultless in taste.

don't know why I haven't been sooner! Had a date night with my husband last night, we ordered 2 drinks each, a starter, Main, side and dessert and cost all of £66!!! we like to eat out and we're were not only impressed with how cheap it was for what we had but the food was, well the chef must be using some kind of witchcraft...... Amazing! The portions were perfect not measly but not over filling, although I was stuffed by the end. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was relaxing and calm. It has a very homely cottage vibe, even the toilets were nice and very clean. this very well could be our new regular place to eat.

Had an absolutely wonderful afternoon tea here, served at lunchtime too! A huge selection of savouries, pastries and sweet things, beautifully presented. We couldn't eat it all, and had to take home doggie bags. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, and I'll be back.

Lovely food worth the wait. I had crispy beef noodles on the special. Husband had burger which is his go to choice, but when he saw mine he had food envy. We want to go back and try Sunday lunch.

Food wasn’t so bad taste wise but portions were too small. A portion of chips which is actually 8 chips in a little basket isn’t great, gammon was OK but a few people in the party had chicken that was tougher than an old shoe, and a rack of ribs that had the sauce poured on after it was cooked, probably won’t go back which is a shame really. Considering we had pre ordered our food the wait was still quite long (which isn’t a problem) but as there were kids in the party you’d think they would be served first, but we ended up a few in the group had actually finished before others were even served.

This was the worse Christmas lunch we have ever had! Staff were lovely & nice setting. Definitely no comparison to last year..the food was rubbish..so disappointed!

Went for Sunday lunch. Food was cold, potatoes were hard, beef was tough and the portions were small. Kevin the manager was rude and couldn't accommodate or go out of his way for us at all! Really disappointed

Visited early evening on a Wednesday. Reasonably busy but no problem getting a table for two. Tender steaks cooked as requested. Cosy atmosphere sitting by log fire. Meal for 2 with two drinks each £68.
