While in Tenby this fish restaurant is a must! If you want fine dining in a quirky place full of history then this is it, highly recommended by the Newspapers and the go to eating place in the whole of Wales, all round absolutely superb

Great meal. We dined as a large group of around 16. Mixture of ages from 80 to baby, vegetarians and meat eaters . Booked in advance (very few would consider us ). Pre ordered and yet able.to change on the day. Great food and service. All staff helpful. Everyone was impressed with their food and envious of the dishes they didn't have !
Great job with the pressures the restaurant trade are under .

Came on Wednesday night and as always the food was excellent. This is my favorite restaurant, I've been coming here for years and I visit whenever I'm in the area. The staff are lovely. Don't be put off by the price, this is proper food sourced locally and cooked to a very high standard. Treat yourself!

We toiled over whether we should go in or not - we were deterred by the price but after a prolonged vibe check (i.e. menu checking, going to the downstairs bit), we decided to eat here for dinner for our first, and only, night in Tenby.

Nothing really popped out at us on other google reviews and this, in fact, did skip our radar. However, exploring the side streets, and happening upon the cute yellow front and lantern/lightbox this seemed like the go-to place.

Unfortunately we are not made of money so we only got mains and a dessert to share. (cheapest non-vegan main approx £30). In retrospect perhaps we should have got two different mains (we ended up getting sea bass risotto), and a lemon curd tart for dessert.

Seabass simply pan fried, but simply delicious. Risotto is something we always question and aren’t sure why we do, the added samphire boosted the dish from what could have been bland to a subtly interesting flavour. However the peas and broad beans were slightly overcooked.

Tart was £10 but an overall winner. It’s always nice to have a dessert, if you’re going to come to a more expensive place, then you may as well enjoy yourself ! Very strong acidic kick compensated by the vanilla chantilly cream. Recommend eating as many mouthfuls with a little bit of the fruit and cream to balance all the flavours.

Overall vibe: staff friendly, interesting setting and history and cosy settees downstairs by the fire for an aperitif or post-dinner drink. Lose yourself in the warm and cosy basement (dimly lit, low roof). Vampires might live here.

Outstanding food! We have dined here every year (for 20 years) whilst on holiday, and never once have we had a bad meal. Our favourite restaurant in Wales. Atmosphere, decoration, service have always been excellent.

After hearing such good things about this restaurant, unfortunately we both felt let down by our recent experience.
The part of the restaurant where we were seated was so dark you couldn't read the menu or see your food. People were using their phone torches to read the menu!
The meals were slow being served despite there only being 2 other tables at the time and both were underwhelming and overpriced for what was served.
The restaurant was cold, despite us being sat right by the fire.
The only plus side was front of house were very attentive and helpful

Had a great Sunday roast and fish dish! My boyfriend and I tried to book a table for dinner the day before we wanted to go but they are always fully booked and we were lucky enough to book a table for lunch on a Sunday. Would definitely recommend the place but book way in advance if you want to make sure that you have a table! Also the stuff is approachable and helpful
