Came by with my partner shortly after they reopened this year. The guy who runs the place is super nice and was a pleasure to talk to. The food is absolutely fantastic. My partner is vegan, so we often eat Thai food as it tends to be vegan/vegetarian friendly, and this is some of the best we've ever had. Absolutely give this place a stop by if you have the time.

Great little place. This really surprised us, from the friendly welcome to the absolutely stunning thai dishes. Theres lots of great choice and traditional drinks, everything is really flavourful and colourful. Definitely worth a visit.

This review isn't based on the quality of the food because the experience I had made it irrelevant. The menu is dangerously uninformative. I ordered a Pad Thai for my vegan girlfriend for our date night and on the menu this meal had the 'vegan' symbol and did not specify it contained eggs, although it did specify it contained nuts. Usually we would specify we want something vegan but as this dish seemed to contain no animal products we decided to not bother. When we got our food it turned out that this meal did in fact contain eggs. When we phoned up about it, they said they'd do what they could and when I managed to run down (as it was close to closing time) they said I could only get my money back if I had brought the Pad Thai. They did not specify this on the phone and I could not possibly return home to get it before they closed. Now, this may seem not much to get angry over, but imagine if I or my girlfriend were allergic to eggs. They did not specify the meal contained eggs and as such we could have experienced a severe allergic reaction.
The issue here is that their menu is dangerously misinformative, and frankly their attitude towards my concerns was insulting. Throughout this experience I tried to be patient with them but their only weak defense was that the symbol merely indicated that there was a vegan 'option'. Nowhere did the menu specify this, and when I pointed this out they were incredibly dismissive. At every stage this could have been averted but by their lack of communication and their dismissive attitude to dietary requirements, we have lost over ten pounds and had our night ruined. We have no intention of coming again.

Saphan Thai is a real hidden gem. In Aberystwyth established restaurants like Medina get all the attention, but this place is not to be missed. The menu is street food-themed, with a range of noodle, rice and soup dishes to choose from, along with plenty of starters and sides. I had a spicy noodle dish called Pad Kra Prow which was genuinely delicious! The service was very prompt and friendly, with staff going out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable, even going to the effort of demonstrating different chopstick technique! I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Saphan Thai for a lovely evening!

What a meal! They have a selection of vegan options and will cater to your needs. The green tea is excellent even without the milk.
I usually go for the spicy options, but when you order the ones without spice you can really tell that it is good quality ingredients prepared well. Anyone would be able to find something no matter the amount of spice you can tolerate.

Food was great. Staff helped understanding the menu because I have never had Thai food before. They were very patient with me. Beautifully presented food and it tasted delicious.
