We had a major refurbishment done and had a positive experience. As with these things we made a few alterations during the job realising a wall would be better if moved slightly and a door had to be changed for fire regulations. The owner was very helpful and seemed particularly to care about the quality of the finish, his guidance on things like paint colours, tiles and fittings based on what they had done elsewhere was very useful.

We had a new roof put on in 2008 by Paramount. The deciding factor for accepting the tender initially was that they offered a generous 15 years gaurentee and that John the owner appeared to be very knowledgeable and must be an expert having been in the business since the 1960s. We offered them the contract in full confidence to renew our roof.

Just under 7 year later, we found a dangerously loose tile, rows of slipped tiles and concrete pieces in the gutter, fallen out from the ridge. No problem, as they did offer a generous gaurentee written down on paper and I just had to pick up the phone.

The nightmare begins... Numerous phone calls and emails were made of which a majority were either ignored, given excuses to try and void the warrantee or when promised to visit, it was a no show. After two months of being messed about, I had no choice but to contact their trade association The Confederation of Roofing Contractors to step in and help. Even with their involvement, many more promises made and broken. Eventually, nearly 4 months later and at the suggestion of the trade association, I obtained quotes from other roofing companies for the repair and sent a final warning email to Paramount to either do the job or foot the bill. John the owner immediately called me to schedule the next day... yet again no show.

Five days later, they visited unannounced whilst I was not home to supervise the work. My elderly mother with limited knowledge of the problem had to speak to them whilst I had to guide them on the phone. This was not ideal but to be fair, they did complete the remedial work to a good standard, but 4 months later and after much headache.

This review would have been 5 stars had I not been messed about. From my experience, I cannot recommending this company as I cannot trust this company to honour their gaurentee or return willingly should things go wrong. Please use this review to make an informed decision about using this company.
