He quoted me £1500 for front facias and verge repair. I waited over two months as well as he seemed nice and straightforward chap.

We made him and his old fried tea and were patient with him due to his age often being concerned as the weather was cold.

I got a call to say he finished but he didn’t attempt to fix the verge at all.

I questioned him and that’s when he lied and said he didn’t do verge repairs he wanted extra money and was full of excuses. First saying we didn’t even talk about the verge repair, the next day he was full of apologies.

I made him tea and I told him what he needed to buy and how it needs to be fixed. He agreed and came back two days later.

He still insisted that it would cost extra to fix the verge even though we agreed the price at the beginning.

He couldn’t fix the verge and got aggressive I tried my best to calm him down.

He tried his best to anger me and lie but it didn’t work, He walked off saying I would need to pay the scaffolder and threatened me and my family.

He then returned and took off the facias smashing them up and my tiles on the roof, I went up the scaffolding to stop him damaging my roof as he was angry. He then went down and then removed the ladder and started laughing.

I then had to call the police.

In my experience This old man is a liar and this is how he makes his money in his old age as he can’t really do the work. Shame.

Stay clear.

Really pleased with the service from Malcom. He replaced some broken tiles and refitted ridge tiles. I also had a problem with incorrectly fitted guttering, which he was happy to resolve too. No hesitation in recommending.
