Birchington Vale Holiday Park

Liked: Liked the camping pod, the calmness of the site, and the friendliness of staff. Woman working in shop gladly put in crossants for us on both days.

Disliked: Found the meals in the clubhouse rather expensive at 11.95 each. Even the half-board or breakfast option is expensive. There should be a more family-friendly price.

Would be nice if there were at least a kettle in the camping pod, and possibly a microwave available on site.

Liked: Our camping pod was ideal for us two, very cosy and very quiet. The bed was comfy too. We took our own bedding, kettle, cups, tea and coffee

Disliked: Unfortunately the showers were not cleaned once during our 3 night stay so didn’t bother on the 3rd morning as I didn’t want to wade through everyone else’s hair

Stayed for 4 nights in August in one of the pods.
Staff were absolutely fantastic, entertaining and welcoming.
Entertainment was pretty good, but times for entertainment events weren't very well advertised.
Pods were clean and toilets and showers were fine but they weren't very close to the pods and required a key to get into which felt unnecessary.
Place isn't great for people who don't have cars unless you want to spend a fortune on cabs like we did or walk along roads which is dangerous. Getting to nearby beaches, public transport and attractions is very difficult.
Food and drinks were over priced for what it is.
Arcade and park were pretty good for the kids.
Swimming pool was really cool, you get 50 minutes in it at a time and there's a really cool slide.

11/09/22-
Checked in just after 4pm, was told by receptionist that the toilets were blocked so would have to use the arcade/bar toilets which was a walk away! Which they didn’t let us know that they would be closed during the night. Was told their was no running hot water so couldn’t have showers either.
The place is disgustingly unclean.
I was not made aware that everything would be closed. I would’ve thought the mini shop would be open for those that checked in at 4-5pm, (couldn’t get any water or drinks).
Communication is shocking as well
We phone park warden and have demanded a refund, and we went to stay elsewhere.

Clean . The club house is good. The burgers were delicious. In season great for families. It has play area's a swimming pool snooker table in the club house. Shop.

Liked: Staff were brilliant. Very friendly and welcoming. Camping pod was cute, clean and a great experience. Swimming pool was clean and great fun. Shop was great value with helpful staff. Segways are a must! Toilets and shower block were clean and tidy. Food in restaurant was great value for money and tasty. Also had a great choice.

Disliked: Crazy golf needs an update.

Nice little holiday home. We stayed in the little cabins, and while they were cozy and warm - it would've been nice if they had toilets included with them.

Instead we had to use a shared toilet block, which was okay. The showers however, are very low down and if you are above 180cm you will struggle to wash your hair!

The camping pods are great but nit cleaned well. There was a dirty sock on the floor on arrival and the shower block had someone washing out a cat litter tray and the mess was still there the following day. Other than that was fine.
