It was obvious he didn’t know what he was looking at and could not be bothered.
I would not recommend them as at least one of their employees appears to be work shy and don’t care about customer service.
I sourced the elements myself for £140 I watched some you tube videos on how to fit them and got an electrician friend to help me £30. It took us around 3 hours to get the heater out onto a bench strip it down get the old elements out very difficult but WD40 helped. Fitted the new ones put all parts back and the heater back in the caravan. Started the heater up on 240v wouldn't work? It would work off gas but this is expensive so turned it off. I put a complaint in to C&S to which they did respond. They stated they followed the fault finding procedure. I contacted Truma myself and Sargent who make the RCD box fitted to most caravans, they stated it could be a fault on the 240v rcd or a loose connection? After testing all connections leading to the rcd box I found no power coming from the Sargent box to the Truma heater. I called back the electrician and he stripped the Sargent box down to find the fault was a 6 pin connecter which had worked loose as these are fitted upside down. After pushing the connecter back in the heater fired up straight away with no faults showing on the display screen as before! It's still working. C&S offered to send all emails to Truma for a diagnosis/opinion, I agreed, guess what yes they supported C&S, of course they would they deal with them all the time, they responded to C&S within hours.
So if I gave the caravan to them for the repair they would have fit the elements for £700 but the heater would not have worked? They then would have charged me extra to find the electrical fault!
So in my opinion be very wary of this caravan repair company and get a second opinion as I did!
They serviced my caravan back in 2020, when we took the van away on a weekend away we found the solar panel on top of the van was not working even though it was working the last time we used the Caravan. I rang C&S to question this and they stated it was not part of the service. After getting it tested by Sargent it was broken? They stated they'd never known one go before! Again was the solar panel swapped for another one? I can't prove this as they don't video the service. I now use another caravan service business for servicing the caravan on a yearly basis!
