I have had 2 caravans stored here for several years now and was let down originally by my previous place of storage due to my rear light cluster being stolen from my caravan. Jane came to my rescue, she was full at the time but instantly made me a tempory space behind the office. Within a few days Jane had found me a permanent space which I have to this day. My caravan has been safe here since. The storage isn't the cheapest but is the best and you get what you pay for, and in my honest opinion Excellence! The site is very well maintained and extremely secure. Also, I have found Jane most accommodating and friendly a rarity these days. I wouldn't store my caravan anywhere else.
It's very well maintained site.
I certainly feel any negative review will be someone who doesn't like be asked to pay more for a big space.
Highly recommended. Well done Jane 5 stars for you.
We believe that since Michael Whittle passed, prices have started to rise & the payments were changed to 6 months instead of 12 months which is where the price increases came in for the privilege.
We were paying £295 per 6 months & when the renewal came she wanted us to pay £345 per 6 months which meant £100 a year increase, so I made enquiries why this was the case, she said you changed your caravan 2 years ago & it was over 24 foot, I explained to her that we bought the caravan in 2016, 5 years ago & its (7.31m) 23ft 11 3/4ins, so I refused to pay because it was under 24ft, we agreed to pay £310 for 6 months (actual price for up to 24ft).
She told me to google the length of the van, I didn’t need to I have the information from the Sterling brochure.
When the renewal came which was early so we could make our decision, we were given the choice of paying £345 or no renewal.(see note below)
See note 1
While we were considering our choices with no communication from us or her we received a second note terminating our contract.
See note 2
Over the last couple of years she has introduced a payment if you have a service engineer come on site to carry out any work.
Also the storage is now used by local car garages who store their cars in between caravans, I did say to her that I wasn’t happy with cars been stored & she replied that’s my business & the night watchman that used to greet us in the early hours has also disappeared.
So in 16 years the only 2 things I have ever complained about is the price increase & the influx of cars.
It seems while ever you pay & tow the line you are ok, but raise a problem you will be replaced by a Hyundai
I tried to do the decent thing & return my gate card & the caravan sales person rang Jane to come to talk to me, she refused to come & talk & told me I could keep the card.
I could understand if it was a platinum site buts its only gold.
After all this our caravan is still under 24ft.(just)
This is not the site it used to be, many people who I have talked to moan about the price & service.
Firstly the entrance is in a ⛽petrol filling station ⛽ and its very tight to manover around the pfs with the traffic 🚦, however maximising the caravan spaces is taken to the extreme. You need a motor mover as on the part of the site I was shown it was very tight.
Now onto the extortionate prices this is where my issue started. The owner wanted the whole years rent up front and a coerced contract signed, when I said I wanted to look at other storage sites in the area. I was then told I need to leave a pricey deposit, I then said 'if I called back tomorrow if I wanted the space'.
I was then told ' if you leave it, it will not be available'. 'Now I didn't see any other customers queuing for it '.
Now did you think 'i was a time waster? '.
I thank you for your arrogant, enforcing manner.
Extort, emphatic, autocratic, magisterial, objectionable, obtrusive domineering, avail oneself, subtle, astute, wily, misanthropic, imperious, supercilious, high-handed & cunning staff!!! 🤔😕😮
