We love this artwork, my 3-year-old calls it the ‘man on top’ and we have a great view of it from multiple angles as we walk through the Coastal Park and up around where Leas Cliff Hall is. I understand it represents climate change and melting ice caps, we just like it on an aesthetic level. I’m looking forward to explaining the more complex significance to my children once they can understand. Lovely addition to the seafront.

This figurine of a man from the Far North with a seal, standing on a dais above the black puddle spreading at the base, for me is the trunk of the Zerowaste movement. This sculpture is in perfect harmony with the white color of the chalk cliffs, and the seculture, as it were, is guarding the environment from atmospheric pollution.
