Went there for platinum jubilee. Beautiful sculpture and stunning when lit up. Lovely location with good views of Dee estuary. Plenty of free parking with bins. Want to go back there in the day to go walking

When lit, the Bagillt Beacon shows the Welsh dragon on fire.. this either signifies what the commissioners wanted when they ordered it to be created.. or just thought it would look cool without thinking of how offensive it would symbolically look.
The very image of a dragon being set on fire, to me signifies the destruction of the Welsh nation, its people, its identity.. who on earth would design a beacon like this?

You can take a breather from here to look out over the Estuary as you meander a few hours away walking the coastal path! There are also sitting stones placed around the beacon if you want to stop a while for a picnic or rest!
I've taken a star off as there has been increasingly more dog fouling and dogs off leads along these walks...as we have two dogs this isn't on all owners, just the ones that choose to turn away from cleaning up after their dogs or be responsible when out walking! Your dog may be friendly but others aren't, also there are people that are genuinely nervous of dogs as well and having one run at you with no owner in sight is not funny!!
There are poo bins placed intermittently along the walk. There are also places to sit and rest.
Much of the path is disabled and pram friendly but there are trodden paths along the marshes and gravel paths that are not, maybe worth noting that there is no path to the beacon either, it's up a gradual hill on grass or up gravel paths, it's a shame not everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the view! My mum has been up on her walking stick and with assistance but only managed it a couple of times in the summer.
Smallish parking area at the bottom area, the fishermen park in the top area.

A "hidden" gem. Fantastic views across the River Dee estuary. Very popular amongst local residents as a place to go for a stroll.
The hill is man made, being a spoil heap from the nearby Bettisfield Colliery.
It's on the Wales Coastal Path.
Great place for a picnic.
Perhaps not somewhere you'd specifically go to for a day trip, but if passing, it's very much worth stopping off.
It would be reasonable to spend 30 minutes to 1 hour here.
