Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges

Our Original holiday elsewhere was cancelled the day prior so rushed we chose to stay here instead. Super glad we did!

A nice , clean and peaceful site. The staff super friendly and there's lots of walks minutes away.
We stayed in the Caldbeck Lodge. The hot tub was huge and serviced every day.

The Lodge was clean and more than big enough for a large family.

Make sure you take supplies with you as there isn't a shop on site and definitely wander down the lane to the Sun Inn for food the roast dinner was amazing.

Can't beat the location. Stunning views over the lake with the hills/mountains in the background.
My only complaint is that the hot tub wasn't warm enough and I couldn't see any way of altering the temperature. I feel that 10pm is quite early for vacating the tub too. Doesn't bother me in winter as it gets a bit too chilly but I feel midnight would be a more lenient time in the summer.
The lodge itself was faultless. A taste of paradise.

We stayed in the old Croft cottage. Spacious and well maintained. Kitchen has everything we needed except a coffee pot - one was bought for us and delivered by site manager very quickly. Fantastic location- access to Bassenthwaite Lake straight down the hill. Lake so much cleaner than some of the others. Perfect for swimming and paddleboarding. Possibly the best place we've ever stayed. The perfect location to get active, engage with nature and chill your beans. We will be back - even the 14 year old put the mobile device away and lived their best life! The most dog friendly welcome too - they even left him some treats.

We stayed in a lake side lodge applethwaite , accommodation was excellent and immaculately clean . The kitchen was equipped with everything you need even down to milk tea and coffee so you can have a drink on arrival which was a very thoughtful touch after a long journey. Beautiful location and hottub overlooking the lake ,super helpful staff there if you need assistance with anything would definitely recommend and will be returning again in the future thank you for a wonderful stay 😀 from the lynch family

We stayed in The Croft Cottage and have nothing to complain about, we arrived to a spotlessly clean property with the most amazing views, the pictures don't do any justice to this fabulous property, we had a lot of rain and high winds but this just made us relax more, The property was well stocked with wood for the burner, bumped into local sheep farmer who was happy to stop and chat, field walk down to lake was secure for dogs to run around, can't fault the trip, would highly recommend to anyone especially someone with walking difficulties as main double on lower level of house with large walk in shower, only 3 steps up to other rooms but access to tub and all outside areas on one level.

Exceptional and excellent stay with pooches.. beautiful lake scenery and hot tub. Accommodation was first class and the dogs got there own welcome pack !!! Can't recommend it enough .. clean tidy and very homely !!!!

Well what can we say, upgrade to Lochside for New Year. So lucky to have had this experience, beautiful site clean tidy. However..... our hot tub servant was useless ! He was constantly late with the champagne top ups and was never on hand when David Bird was called with our special bell we had to put up with sub standard service and no hot dry towels 🤣❤️❤️

Can't fault. A bit disappointed when first arrived as not all lodges have a hottub which I thought there was when booking. However location and walks around the area are fantastic. beer and prosecco on arrival. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
