No problem in finding York Lodge as the map on the web sight is accurate. The house sits in a pretty garden within a picture postcard village. The landlady is very chatty and friendly. The room was clean (spotless) & the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ample and tasty and the landlady was very accomodating with regard to my likes and dislikes. If I had one criticism it would be that there was no chair in my bedroom. However I would recommend York Lodge as it is comfortable and sensibly priced. I hope to be able to make a retun visit.

We have just spent 3 nights at York Lodge and can't recommend it more highly. We enjoyed sitting in the garden, on the terrace , surrounded by a beautiful garden with peace and quiet all around. Had delicious breakfast served at the time we wanted (quite late!) and appreciated having the use of the microwave (and fridge) so we could have supper in one evening. Fiona was an attentive and helpful host. Nether Wallop is a charming village with great places nearby to visit.

York Lodge is a very comfortable place to stay in the wilds of the Wallops. There is secure off-road parking while you enjoy the facilities at the lauded local hostelries, Fiona and her dog Ella are very keen to make you feel at home.

I have been choosing accommodation from the Little Green Book for many years, and largely they are excellent. On this occasion, however, I was not so happy. The room bathroom and facilities were fine apart from the fact that I believe this was normally the son's bedroom. Some of the drawers contained his belongings, and some clothes were hung in the wardrobe, covered by a sheet. We arrived home for the second night to find that the room had not been serviced. The host thought it tidy and asked us what would we like her to do. Normally, fresh cups are found, teabags replenished, towels replaced or arranged to dry etc, bed tidied. The kitchen and utility rooms which we had to pass through were unacceptably untidy and remained so throughout our visit. She offered no reduction in tariff neither did she apologise. I think maybe she should call it a day, sadly.

Has everything we need, lovely host, kind and helpful.
Access to a garden which is great for our greyhound who has taken full advantage of the space and zoomed everywhere.
Certainly a good place to return, which we will
Highly recommended

What a delightful place, with a warm and welcoming owner. It was so peaceful, like a home away from home. Everything in the lodge was top quality. Fiona provided blankets and a water bowl for my dogs, plus details of excellent dog walks nearby. My friend and I loved our two night stay here and highly recommend.
