Just the most amazing place to stay! The house is situated on the farm with beautifully unspoilt views. You are surrounded by fields and are able to explore these at your leisure. James' place really is lovely place to relax and unwind. If you are looking for meals out, Brighton is not far away or we went to Haywards Heath which was about 10 minutes away. The house has everything you need and James is a great host. I couldn't have asked for anything more for mine and my boyfriend's anniversary weekend. Thank you - we will be back!

I booked the Campervan pitch by the lake for a couple of nights and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve been looking for somewhere like this for ages, totally private and secluded, quiet, beautiful woodland to explore and plenty of shade so my dog had a great time too. Host was so polite and friendly and once you’ve been shown to the pitch you are completely left alone to enjoy the (very tidy and clean) area.
This place really is a fantastic find... I will certainly be booking again. Thank you for giving us a lovely, very relaxing few days!

Wow what a perfect weekend getaway! Personally I appreciate the countryside, it can’t get any better than waking up to a bit of peace and quiet. The fiancé and I love an afternoon trek and there was just an abundance of fields and easy access public foot paths around the lakeside retreat. Would recommend if you need to get away and recharge your battery’s.

As an ITU nurse I was desperate for a break away , my other half loves to fish, I love to read a chill out. Here we could do both! The grounds are beautful you are completly secluded other than the occasional bull , duck or horse that wonders past.
James our host kept his distance (due to covid regulations) however he was at the end of the phone for any questions.
The cabin is perfect and the bed is honestly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.
We had family come to fish with us and have a BBQ one day and they provided us extra bedding for this. We sat by the fire pit and roasted marshmallows all whilst the boys fished right off the veranda
My other half was very happy with the fishing. Didn't catch any monsters but some beautiful common carp, mirrors, bream and roach all in beautiful condition!

We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come again for another relaxing stay!

A beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere, perfect for escaping the world and having some well deserved downtime! Peaceful, serene and surrounded by countryside, who could ask for more.

The Lakeside Retreat was a perfect weekend away with my family to escape the busyness of life. We stayed at the Keeper's Cottage, which inside was comfortable, well planned and immaculately clean.

Outside it's hard to imagine that you have the beautiful lake all to yourself when staying here. When the sun shone on the lake it was beautiful and serene, and when the rain landed on the water it felt peaceful and calming.

It was a great chance to regroup and reset as a family in nature without the usual distractions of home.

James could not have been more welcoming or more helpful. Thanks so much and see you again soon.
