Lawn Lodge Self Catering Cottage

Not luxury! Poor value for money.

For £850 a week out of season and stated as ‘luxury’ we expected much more from this property, pleae see below for balanced pros and cons:

Pros:

* lovely area
* Good size garden
* Parking for 3 cars
* Beds comfortable
* Clean

Cons:

* Travel cot not in lodge despite requesting
* No cot provided despite advertised
* Toilet broken
* 3 men came to service boiler during our stay (this should be done in between guests!)
* Lack of basic utensils in kitchen I.e. a grater
* Washing machine outside - not specified in advert, a nightmare to use when you have small children and it is cold
* Door in kitchen completely in the way - poor design
* Dog not allowed in living room!
* Limited hot water - unable to run two shallow baths for children as hot water had run out!
* Kettle full of scale! New kettle needed!
* Telephone not working
* Oven doesn’t work properly- cooking took nearly twice as long as should have.

The location is good and easy access to all the new Forest, the dogs are welcome and there are plenty of walking places. We had the bungalow in the grounds totally fenced in so the dogs(3) were secure, also all the hotel facilities are available. So all in all really very good

Myself and 4 friends booked Lawn Lodge for a birthday back in June and had had an incredible stay! Reception went out of their way to walk us to Lawn Lodge and gave us a tour around. Having the use of facilities was great, and although it was self catered we were welcomed to have dinner in the Hotel itself. Cleanliness was also 10/10 and beds very comfy. Can't wait to return with the family!

Booked a stay at Lawn Lodge for just after lockdown ended in may for first family get together since covid. Really enjoyed our stay. Reception very helpful. added bonus to be able to use the facilities. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of room for us all very well equipped and super comfy beds! Cant wait to come back :)

Wow! Fantastic stay with the children, huge garden and lovely furniture so we sat outside each evening. The kids used the pool each day and loved it! We stayed for a week and could have honestly stayed longer, the hotel has two restaurants and we ate in both - twice! We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at lawn Lodge, the flexibility of having our own space whilst being able to use the hotel facilities was ideal for a family trip. Highly recommended

Would highly recommend a stay at Lawn Lodge, fantastic family or group accommodation with a lovely large garden and great use of hotel facilities including the pool.
