We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Wales and we had a great time. The cottage has everything you'll ever need, wonderful views, cosy and warm, great shower, comfortable beds, close to all the amenities you'll need, lovely neighbours and did I mention the epic views!?

All aspects of our stay ran smoothly. We found the car park (With the cottage on your right it's the next right immediately after the cottage) no problem, there was plenty of information in the cottage, pinned up on the wall or in little folders on the coffee table. Alan was great and really helpful throughout our stay. There are a few decent pubs in the area, along with a few restaurants, a medium sized Co-Op and an excellent fish and chip shop.

If you like walking, there's an excellent walk nearby, up to the slate quarry where you'll find some great peaceful little lakes hidden in the hills. Snowdon is also nearby too although you'll need to drive, it took us around 30 minutes from the cottage to car park for the Watkin Path.

The one downside is that there is no WiFi which may or not be an issue for you. It wasn't a big deal for us although my girlfriend is on Three and had no data signal at all in the cottage. I'm on EE and had decent 4G signal. The TV is decent though and there are 10 or so DVDs if you want a chilled night in front of a film.

Overall we loved our stay and I highly recommend staying here if you visit Wales or want to climb Snowdon. We will definitely be staying again.

Wonderful place with the stunnig views from the window and terrace. Perfect for family vocation. They have absolutely beautiful garden, which is perfect in any weather with the river running just next to it big bedroom with absolutely gorgeous view from the window and second small bedroom with bunkbed for kids. Adults can stay too, but I think it's up to you if you are ready to sleep there. Very warm and cosy place. They have everything you need for your comfort. Comfortable beds, towels, hairdryer, all the catering, TV. They only don't have wifi which wasn't a problem for us. And unfortunately they don't have parking, but there are plenty places on the small streets around.
I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Worth every second spent there. Plus they are half an hour or less away from most of the activities around.

A cosy rustic cottage with great valley and mountain views, in a central location to explore the Snowdonia national park and coastline! There's a garden terrace and bench now surrounded by semi natural greenery and the river

Alan was a charming and helpful host for this delightful former slate miners cottage. It's bigger than you might think from the pics. There are few steps to get down to the entrance from the street, and inside it's cosy and warm with great views from the decked terrace at the back and master bedroom (with a super-king sized bed). There is a stream that burbles beside the garden, which has a fig, a monkey puzzle tree and a second lower terrace which can also be illuminated. The cottage is characterful, and has wooden floor boards, an open fire and is well-appointed. With a car, this is a good location from which to tackle Snowdon (we did that), to reach the coast at Porthmadog (we did that), the beach at Harlech (we did that too), or the zip lines and mountain bike trails at the old mines in Blaenau. There is safe parking about 30m from the property. Thanks Alan, we really enjoyed staying here. Jim.

We booked here for Dec 22nd - 29th for a family christmas break with 2 children aged 7 and 9, and couldnt have been happier!

The host - although we never got to meet Alan, he was always avialable to answer questions, from the moment we booked, to helping us find fire wood and much more. A top guy!

The location - situated in Blaenau Ffesiniog, the cottage had stunning views all around it, and made for great viewing every day. There was a Morrisons and CO-OP 2 mins drive stocking everything we needed. The village is well located for man great walks, lakes and Snowdon and im sure much more we didn't find! Only issue is the parking, but thats clearly mentioned, so we were clear about this before arrival.

The cottage - from the moment we walked in, it was decorated for christmas, and has all of the charm you could want. The kitchen is well stocked and we were able to cook everything, including a christmas dinner. Leading on to the open plan lounge it comfortably sat 4 of us, and the fire place was the highlight, allowing us to play games and drink around it. The wooden floors on the stairs and first floor all added to the charm. The master bedroom is large and airy, and we slept well in the bed, with the kids enjoying the bunks in the 2nd room. The shower is my bench mark, and there was no grime, or mould, it was very clean, and provided powerful hot water, just perfect! Outside, the garden area and river were just stunning to look at and listen to.

Overall, our 7 days went by in a blur, and we didnt suffer from cabin fever at all. If we come back this way in the summer, we would gladly consider Ty Isaf again. Many thanks Alan!
