Penwaun

A lovely place to stay with our family. Loved the open plan kitchen/dining/sitting rooms. Loved the gardens and river and patio. The stars were absolutely amazing, especially the shooting stars!!
I think the bedrooms need updating and the "Everhot" oven is a total nightmare, despite sticking rigidly to the instructions.
The price for the cottage is >£1592 for one week in August and we had to supply our own towels (never, ever, come across this before in all our years of self catering.). We were asked to leave the cottage clean and tidy, strip the beds etc. Whilst we would never leave anyone's house a mess, this is beyond acceptable. It was very difficult to clean the house and keep 3 boys occupied at the same time. Would far rather pay for final cleaning as part of the overall cost and at this price it should be!

Where do I start? Everything about Penwaun is fabulous - its location, the village of Nevern, the surroundings, the local eateries, countless countryside walks, and most of all the cottage and gardens themselves. The photographs cannot do it justice. And - note to previous reviewer who scored Penwaun a '3' - there's even a second smaller cottage should you wish to bring your butler and housemaid to strip the beds and carry towels! For goodness sake - "beyond acceptable" - really?

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here, living the dream. We will be back. Thank you Penny.
