Porthmawr Country House

This is the second time we have stayed here and it is better than the first. The house is lovely, the rooms have charm and Linda has looked after us well. Almost forget to mention the sausages at breakfast = very yum, I think they use their own pig!

We hosted our Daughter's wedding here (Toni to Paul) on April 12th weekend. It was Idyllic and perfect. We hired the whole house, function room and apartments for 4 days. Pre wedding we visited the house several times, and Geoff (the owner) was available to answer many questions and was a fountain of knowledge about the house's history and also the local area. We arrived on Friday and was met by Geoff, the house was opened and was spotless. We were then left to get on with decorating the house and venue. On the day of the Wedding up popped Geoff, Linda, Beth and several staff, they were there but never conspicuous, turning the function room around, attending the bar, co-ordinating the outside catering staff and generally making the day run smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. They cleared away at the end of the evening and after a few drinks and a good old laugh with the last of the wedding party still up, like little house fairies disappeared. We had the most relaxing Sunday ever, sat out on the front of the house on the patio/veranda and soaked up the stunning views and lovely display of daffodils. A chilled Sunday evening in the house, dining as a huge family around the fantastic large (Downton Abbey) style table. Then retired to bed in beautifully appointed rooms full of character. Monday a relaxed moving out, as several staff cleaned the rooms as we vacated, again we never really noticed them. A Huge thank you to you Geoff the perfect host. I would recommend PORTHMAWR House to anyone looking for the ultimate Wedding Venue. It is like owning your own Country Manor House and having staff on the Saturday to cater a Wedding. We did not see Geoff all weekend except for the Saturday. But saying that I feel I have gained a friend not just someone who "did" our Daughter's wedding. We are back as a Family for the New Year. Friendly staff. Great house. Good food. Has the feel of being in the countryside and away from the bussle of townlife. Although Crickhowell is a few paces away

We have always had the most incredible parties when DJing at this beautiful wedding venue situated in the foothills of the Brecon beacons. Geoff, Adam and Beth are so awesome to work with and they go out of their way to make everyone who stays and parties there so welcome! Check out some of our videos and pictures in the photos section.

Very nice location and very nice and helpful staff. We had a private party there and the food was gorgeous. Many thanks to Beth and Adam and all the staff that works there. We really enjoyed the stay.

I Dj'd here tonight for a Wedding. Nice venue, friendly staff, FREE parking and reasonable prices. Nice size dancefloor, easy access. Smoke machines not permitted. Thank you, Ben and Dawn, Knightmoves Discos and Karaoke 😉

They are just... amazing!

A family run business with the most lovely team, and a really wonderful venue, but it's the love and care that they really gave the bride and groom on the day that left me in awe.
Beth, Adam, and the team did such a wonderful job of really listening to the bride and groom, understanding what they needed before they even asked, and made everything just so very easy.

Having a beautiful venue to host your wedding celebration is one thing, but to have a team that laughs and has fun with you through the day is something money can't buy and that every bride and groom will appreciate on their very special day.

Quite possibly the most perfect wedding venue in the UK run by the most most charming people I've met on a long time. As part of the wedding party on the bank holiday weekend, we were able to have the run of the place for the weekend and our every need was catered for. The food here is devine, the grounds are superb, the house itself is now my dream house and it is steeped in hundreds of years of history. Thank you to everyone at Porthmawr House- you guys are awesome x
