We received a nice warm welcome when we arrived and the place was sparkling clean. It was a charming place to have a holiday and a perfect place to go if you want to get away from it all. The people in the village were friendly and helpful. We we also given fresh eggs from the farm which tasted delicious. Completely recommend

During Covid-19 I have had work across the country and having a warm friendly place to stay in the evening before the next day of duties was just the thing you need to recharge. Feeling so grateful, thank you Fiona.

The most beautiful place to stay in the Brecon Beacons! The Arches are a stunning rural retreat with fantastic views over the hills and surrounding areas. The grounds are so peaceful and are lovely for a nice little stroll to visit the pigs that live there - which are so cute! The owners are both very lovely and are an absolute pleasure to be around. We cant wait to come back! :-)

This was our first trip since the second UK Lockdown and we couldn't have asked for much better.

We took public transit from London, which was easy enough. Once in Talybont, the walk up to the The Arches only took about 5 mins, though it is quite the hill if you do walk.

Once we arrived, Fiona came and greeted us, keeping 2m back the whole time. She gave us the rundown of the place, and told us to let her know if there was anything we needed. The rest of the procedures (mainly due to COVID precautions) were clearly written at the entrance and all were easy to follow.

The location itself is marvelous, with a lovely view from the patio of the surrounding hills and farmland. We were focused on hiking as much as possible this trip, and this was the perfect base. We were able to get to Pen Y Fan and back no problem in a day, and the route we took seemed to be one of the least busy ones. We also did another good hike the opposite direction. It seems there were many other options as well, both long (20-40km) and shorter (10-20km). Overall, if you are looking to run, hike, or bike, this is a perfect spot.

The two local pubs were closed, but we were able to buy all the food we needed from shop. The kitchen was adequate, though perhaps missing a few bits and pieces, and we managed to cook all 3 nights we stayed.

The only negative I can think of was partially our own doing, and this was the temperature of the room. It got rather chilly in the evening, and there was no heat control. I'm sure if we had asked though, we could have had the heaters turned on.

Again, though I would absolutely recommend The Arches if you are looking to get away from the daily hustle and bustle. The location is ideal for anyone looking to get into the outdoors, either via long distance hiking, or short strolls along leisurely canals.

Quiet place and close to the trails. We hiked from here to Pen y Fan (not for the faint hearted). Everything was perfect just it was fairly cold in the evenings and night.
