Safestore Self Storage Farnham

Honestly, a terrible storage facility. On most of my visits the lift has been out of order - on one occasion the stairs too! No email informing customers of this. One one of my trips I ended up taking most of my items back home with me again as they were too heavy to carry up the stairs. No (not even slight) temperature control. I was given a storage room with a very suspicious amount of foam filler in the roof which when I questioned, was told that it had leaked but not to worry "it's sorted now". Oh, and I got locked in the compound one night and had to wait nearly an hour for the night watchman (who was in Croydon at the time - because apparently one guy covers all of Surrey at night) to come and open the main gate. The only thing I can say in it's favour is I do like the sales guy Fran. I've included a couple of choice images from October and November (and they have never offered - in fact have refused any sort of compensation for the inconvenience). If I hadn't already dropped off so much stuff I'd have moved it elsewhere.

This is my first use of Safestore Farnham & everything has gone very smoothly .The price seems very reasonable.

I have a small, 5 ft square room and have been provided with ten boxes which stack on top of each other. The room is tall & has swallowed a quite enormous amount of stuff. Suitcases have gone in as well.

The staff have been very supportive & helpful & the drop-off procedure is as easy as pie. I have a keyring dongle to open the main door. Grab a trolley, summon the lift & the stuff goes into the padlocked room in a trice. As I remarked to another customer at the weekend, it is even quite fun.

I would certainly use Safestore again & would recommend it to anyone.

Hi, is everything OK?

I very briefly had a look at your website out of curiosity, since then I have had 5 phone calls, several text messages and plenty of emails, the last message stating my quote is expiring although I have never had a quote,

to be honest your sounding very desperate ! I understand jumping on a sales lead but come on this is ridiculous, your making me feel stalked,

Although I am flattered it is becoming slightly annoying,

So let me start by saying that the staff at Safestore Farnham have been great. But 5 months into my rental they DOUBLED the rent on my unit.

I have been rented Safestore units for more than 15 years in London, and I am aware that the rent goes up pretty regularly (the "special offers for long term rentals" is a load of hogwash) but well over DOUBLE the rent is preposterous!

The staff at the Farnham office tried to help and suggested I call head office. A complete nightmare getting hold of anyone, and those I did get a hold of just dodged the question and lied and said it was the fault of the local branch. I eventually got through to someone who just said no. That was the new price and I could always move out. Everyone I encountered at head office was rude and unhelpful.

I had to decide if to pay the doubled rent or move my stuff to another unit... but being in the middle of a massive house renovation, a very busy job and a pandemic, moving wasn't an option, so I has to just lump it.

I spoke to other renters who faced the same kind of jumps, some of whom were put in a very difficult position because their business needed it and one who was really struggling after a recent change in family circumstance. They had all encountered the uncaring, rude and unreasonable head office people.

I really hope the ***** that decided to put all the rents up has the rent doubled on their home and gets a taste!

But for sure I would never use them again - and if you are looking to rent somewhere with reasonable and stable pricing - look elsewhere!
