I have decided to share my experience with this dry cleaning place, because I don’t want anybody else to make this experience.
A few weeks ago I took quite a few pieces to this place for the first time: Suits, shirts and two elegant dresses. When collecting, I unfortunately didn’t check on all items as I was trusting this place. The next day we took all of it abroad for a wedding, we went by car and everything was transported carefully. Once arrived abroad we unwrapped all the foil and discovered, that one button of the suit was broken, which is an easy problem to fix, but we also discovered that one of the dresses was completely destroyed. It had several stains in the centre of the dress as well as long lines, which look like burnt lines or something. There was no way to wear this dress, so I had a super stressful time to get a new dress just a few hours before the wedding!
When we came back to the UK I contacted the dry cleaner via email sharing with them what happend and i asked kindly for a return of the fee I paid for getting the dress cleaned and ironed (which is over £20)and got a friendly response asking me to bring back the dress and suit and they would have a look at it. So for that I’m giving a star, as that’s really nice to offer. So I brought these items back and was told by a friendly stuff member they would replace the button and try to clean the dress again. For that I’m giving another star, as that’s very fair. But then when collecting, the owner personally wanted to handover the dress with no comment and pretend it’s all good. Some of the stains are gone now, but the burnt lines are still there. I’m convinced something went wrong when ironing the dress. So I told him the lines are still there- the dress is ruined. So first he told me it is my own fault, that I probably have used bodylotion before I tried it on and that this could the lines when dry cleaning. This is ridiculous and by the way, I don’t use bodylotion on my belly.
Then I was offered to start an investigation on my own cost by an extern company, but I was also told that the outcome is always positive for the dry cleaner. He also mention how he has been a dry cleaner for 14 years that he knows all about his business. So I said I’m very disappointed and not happy. The stains have not been there before and I brought the dress originally to this place because it was a brand new dress and I like things cleaned before I wear them. I also wanted it to get ironed properly as it got some wrinkles. So the owner said that’s all he can tell, he said he gave me an option and then he wished me a good day and started serving the next client while I was in the middle of my sentence. Very rude and very unprofessional. I felt kicked out and never ever would I recommend this place! Dear owner of this place, the least you could have done is returning your fee for a service you were not able to provide. I think it was nice from my side not to charge you the cost for this new dress. I wish you well and hope you will realise one day what awful service you have provided. I also recommend a training how to serve your clients and especially how to dry clean expensive dresses!

I have to say, Sew Perfect has provided excellent service, I genuinely thought I would have to discard my dress but they managed to remove the stains and gave great advice on protecting the garment in future. The proprietor was particularly helpful and knowledgeable, luckily there are such high quality independent establishments still in existence and I am very proud to support local businesses.

I have been a customer of Sew Perfect for nearly eight years. The service I have received has been precisely the same every time, absolutely flawless!

Pressing, dry cleaning, alterations, last minute next day requirements, nothing is ever a problem, nothing is ever late, nothing is ever damaged.

All of the staff who work there are always friendly and approachable. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this company.

I remember on one occasion, a member of the public came in to the shop while I was there, complaining about receiving a phone call and being asked to collect an item he had left there for two years!!!

Firstly, what kind of person leaves an item of their own clothing in a shop for two years, secondly, how can the same person have the audacity to complain about being phoned to collect it?

The company would have been well within their rights to discard that persons items after 180 days, but not this place, because they care.

I can’t recommend this company enough.
