Garage Shelving

I enquired about some shelving units before purchasing. I was assured they were sturdy, that metal frames would be 2mm thick and that it could not be bent by hand as cheap B&Q ones.

I ordered two units and opened one to inspect. I was disappointed to find uprights were only 1mm thick (maybe 1.2mm if you take the paint into account) and that I could indeed bend the metal by hand.
Items were decently sturdy but not what I was promised.
I emailed the sales team back, who simply ignored me.

So I asked to return the items. A very long and unpleasant conversation followed as they would refuse to refund the opened item - but I had to open it to discover I had been misled.
I had to quote all the emails I received and to threat involving Trading Standards for my rights to be acknowledged. Finally they agreed to refund me the full price.
Surprisingly, when the collection day came they informed me that I could keep both units and get my full refund anyway.

Yes, I've got two free units but the whole transaction has been unpleasant and unprofessional - and in the end I wasted quite a lot of time.

Had I been given the correct information in the first place; had they apologised and searched for a suitable solution when I complained and I wouldn't be here leaving such a negative feedback.
The shelving units are better than B&Q but not by far.

I published the above review on their website after the purchase and a few days later I realised they had removed it. So I'm reviewing here on Google hoping that the message will reach as many potential buyers as possible. My recommendation: buy your shelves elsewhere.

Bought this shelving to store boxes of books in the garage. Very easy to construct, and the shelves can be reconfigured very quickly. Very happy with this product.
