Ankerside Shopping Centre

A bit outdated and typical shopping mall from the years gone.

Getting very empty and looking dated.

Think only Iceland and boots is the reason why we cost now.
Problem is the rent/rates are to high for most company’s small or large to even think about opening up. Could be something good but it’s not.

This is a busy little shopping centre with a buzzy atmosphere, good car parking, well maintained toilets, access to the Castle Grounds, and easy access to the main shopping areas of the town. There are some nice features such as the striking clock and the Aethelflead stained glass window with seating overlooking the castle. Most units are occupied and there is a good variety of shops and even a few useful services such as several opticians and a covid vaccination centre. The site is an asset to the town and together with the town centre shops, it creates a viable alternative to the out of town facilities at Ventura Park.

I live in Tamworth and it's a shame there's empty shops. If they did a craft maket in some of the big shops a few times a year it would not only bring people into ankerside but also the town

Next to no shops. Shame. Could have been a shopping centre if they'd got some high street stores in there. Only good thing were the clean toilets and the exit of the car park

Almist deserted of Good stores...But wotkers helpful..pity too.many school aged children noisey Parents are supposed to be in charge but ...service tills in £land. Or that should be $land. Hardly any staff. Don it yourself check out tils. ..few helpful staff.

It really needs something doing with the empty shops.
The lifts were out of order & we had to negotiate the stairs with a pushchair, not acceptable.
It was very quiet not many people shopping.
Perhaps if the parking was free it would attract more people.
Most locals go to ventura Park and the jolly sailor as the parking is free .
Not sure exactly what's happened to Ankerside but 10 years ago it was thriving 🤔

Plenty of parking at the time of our visit. Managed to get everything we needed in one place, even our phone screen replaced!
