I was a pupil there at one point, but i decided to leave after only a year because of the stressful situations i was put through by several members of staff there, the only saving grace was the freedom given at the short brakes we had.

I would have always given Pontville 5 stars up until January 2020 due to a change in headteacher. I have lived residential here for about 5 years and had so much help emotionally from residential staff and the head of care. Pontville had an amazing head teacher who went above and beyond to support me every day, since she left and a new head started I have seen a huge negative change to a lot in the last few months. I feel like the decisions now made at a management level are not supportive to the young people. I am disappointed as over the last 5 years I have came so far with the support of Pontville but now in the last few months I have watched everything deteriorate and I personally think that it is no longer a positive and happy place to be/ live.

I am not at all surprised to read reviews about the school's drop in standards under this current Head Teacher and am not surprised to read the below review from someone who suffered severe mental health problems either.

My child has attended Pontville since Feb 21 and we have had a first rate experience. My child had been in a mainstream school that didn't understand his needs but in Pontville they go above and beyond to give him the education he needs. The class sizes are small, the lessons are differentiated and all the staff are helpful and polite. Of course, Pontville is a business, but it doesn't feel like a business - it feels like a team supporting my child so that he can get the best out of life.

I used to be a Pupil at the school about 2002 - 2006, I have been looking for information about the school on how its doing these days to reignite old memories, got to say, Mr Sim was the best headteacher i ever had in my youth... Not toooo sure he'd like that i now ride a motorcycle and work night jobs while also doing lots of volunteering. But these things happen. Either way this school was originally the main point of where i actually started feeling like a human. Also the staff there when i went there were amazing. Not sure if Nick Knowels still works there, but he had to be one of the best teachers i ever met as he was so funny and cool. Then there was the Canadian Science teacher, always telling us to no mix up O² and H² as one you can breathe, the other is a tad flammable.
