Open air station on the Northern line. Normally crowded waiting room in the winter as wind blows around the station. Upstairs so not disabled friendly. Newsagent and nibbles in entrance. Large car park but often full. Bad mobile phone connections. Many bus stops outside.

Nice and clean station. Its opened, so little bit colder in winter but with fresh air in summer. Station has one convenient shop and two exits.

This station completed in 1939 and attributed to Charles Holden features that determined Art Deco hunting ‘Archer,’ unveiled during the early days of WWII. This being the only 3D statue on the entire underground system.
The station retains much original fabric and an indicator of innovative civic architecture on the eve of the war.

Either the first or last open air station on the High Barnet branch of the Northern line, depending on which way you're going.

East Finchley station benefits from a car park nearby. The station entrance and ticket hall are fully accessible at street level.

There's a minicab rank outside and local buses too.

The platforms are only accessible by stairs going up. No lifts here. Finchley Central is the closest alternative with lifts.

Platforms are partially covered by concrete canopies and some seating is available. Train services are quite frequent, so long waits shouldn't be necessary.

The station is largely unmodernised, and retains a lot of original historical features.

There's a decent amount of ticket gates, and the ticket hall is staffed. Some attempt has been made to personalise the station with a used book exchange just inside the ticket hall.

A point of interest: immediately outside is McDonald's UK HQ and training centre.

I last time, I went to East Finchley on my way to college, it was so crowded. Every time, you tried to get on or off, you had no space to walk. I wrote multiple emails and multiple letters to TFL, asking them to revive the old abandoned Northern Heights railway line for the London Overground to take over the route from High Barnet and Mill Hill East to London King's Cross via Finsbury Park, which will mean "It'll share track with the Northern Line between East Finchley and High Barnet, and then the Northern Line transferring it's Mill Hill East branch for the London Overground to take over."

Coffee trailer outside station (the red white and green one) is superb. Clean, helpful, delicious coffee. Also, the owner found my lost phone in Cherry Tree Wood and went to extraordinary lengths to keep it safe and fully charged until I finally located it. He was amazing. Thank you.

Beautiful Northern Line Station. From the iconic Art Deco Sculpture of the archer on the Station facade outside to the original platform Waiting Rooms with their long covered platforms. Look up from the platforms and there are towers with curved glass to the stairwells.
During the summer, the late afternoon sun gleams off the tiled platforms and lights them with a golden "magic hour" glow. Look out for the masses of original bronze framed signs and platform furniture. And there's a rear exit into the leafy roads of the Garden Suburb nestled behind the station.
