Goodge Street is a busy thoroughfare in Central London. There are hundreds of shops restaurants pubs and market stalls. The facilities are good. Wide selection of food and drink outlets here.Nearest tube station is Goodge Street, Northern Line. On weekday lunchtimes, there is a popular hawkers' market at the American International Church. The pop-up stalls are busy. Be patient if you are driving or cycling along Tottenham Court Road this month. Traffic Regulations have been amended. Please be careful. Thank you

Decent station with frequent trains up towards Edgware or down to Kennington and Morden. Lifts and ticket machines are available but no direct step free access to the platforms as there are some steps down. Local buses stop nearby.

Facade with fading ox-blood red faience tiling, typical of early Twentieth Century stations designed by Leslie Green. A cavernous underground bunker here served as a civilian bomb-shelter, then purposed as an American Army command and communications centre during WWII. An anonymous station, best recalled in the 1965 proto hippy-dippy song “Sunny Goodge Street” ... ”on the firefly platform on sunny Goodge Street Violent hash-smoker shook a chocolate machine Bobbed in an eating scene....” * * Donovan Leitch

Beware of a very aggressive guy from the off license Goodge street. He is barbaric!

One of the very few underground stations which are only operated by lifts or stairs (no escalators). 137 steps to walk up or down, so it's a good job that there is a reliable, consistent lift service in action.
